  1. Locomotives Illustrated for April/May is about Class 68/88. Several photos of Chiltern Rlys  off beat. - in Highlands on Tesco train, ECS at Hemel Hempstead and Dawlish with VT stock), At Yatton on flask train, Bescot-Totton engineers train,

  2. It would be useful if N gauge modellers could have something exclusive to buy. An exclusively tooled model might be too risky but I see Dapol and Peco allow short run commission wagon runs and Dapol used  to allow a run of 150 for locos. I prefer real liveries. There must be a private owner wagon on display, suitable locos and NRM named loco.

  3. Just found a new N commission from Dapol by Hobby Goblin in Stoke. Stirrup and Pye of Stoke- 7 plank in black -pristine. Is based on rea company as featured in the Thomas Sketchbook Volume 1. Hope it sells well so more may be done. Has done several others in OO in past

  4. Found the Loco Illustrated mag pf 2012- thanks to rich. 11 iveries shown. GWR choc/cream, Manchester PTE -orange, Provincial blue, Regional blue//grey (and a brown, white and red livery), Merseyrail yellow, Northern Spirit -turquoise, Arriva -blue (also 2004 one car in red and another in green!), FNW dark blue, Northern blue//maroon, FGW dark blue.

There must be many more since 2012. I will get one of the Pacer books of 2018.

Hopefully one or two will be preserved as are part of the diesel heritage.

  5. Just been to Parrs again -lovely knowledgeable lady, Anna, who looks after my wants list and keeps an eye on Peco arrivals for me. Fits in well with a walk along sea front. Parking nearby. Some back issues of Peco and Farish and lots of other ranges. Always willing to order in if necessary and gets back with updates. Good range of Oxford Autos too. . No website but very good over the phone.

  6. We have now received our latest 'OO' scale limited edition wagons.Wagons are relevant to the Cumbria/Cumberland area.

Last year, we did a Carr & Co. biscuit manufacturer van, which proved a great success, so this year we have followed it up with a another Carr & Co. van, this time for the flour mills at Silloth docks.

The run is limited to 200 models, with 60 of these having been weathered, in white of course, to reflect the flour dust that would have been floating around in the mill area.

Cost is £13.75 for the clean version, £14.75 for the weathered version.

Also now available is a 7-plank open wagon belonging to the Keswick Co-operative Society Ltd.

This wagon has a production run of 160, all un-weathered, and the cost is £14.60

Still available, but with stocks now getting low, is a 5-plank open wagon for Thomas Blacklock, a coal merchant from Mealsgate, a village south of Aspatria. Cost for this wagon is £13.20

             Postage is £4.00 per parcel.

N guage version woud be good -Peco

  7. Thanks for info on 142s working with other units. Shows how useful this site is and what info is about  I think I have seen a Locomotives IlIustrated on Pacers and a book has just been published

  8. I don't think anyone said a reatiler was going to say they are rubbish. Nor has anyone hinted at a retailer having to do so.

CR Signals have listed their services to improve the model. I shared it out of general interest.

I wonder what other DMUs couple up to Class 142s in real life and if they can in model form?

  9. Good to hear it runs we especially through points and curves.. Shame about the red cable sticking out as could easily have been obscured.Corridor connections looks good. Liveries look good. Shame if there are errors in body. Wonder if Kernow will commission a West Country version.

  10. E Surrey and Swansea MRC are Dapol N. Sorry. I also see Zaratren have had several Peco commissions in Euro liveries.

Hereford Model Centre has received 9 more TTA BP ank wagons in weathered condition -different numbers to pristine ones. Peco has been doing several commissions lately but one needs to track them down!

  11. Great to see this is going ahead. Slightly makes up for the underwhelming announcement from the "other team" yesterday. ;) Just to get people in the mood, here is a pic of a nice shorty rake on a test run passing Didcot in 1975.

Seven coaches were modified for use in production HSTs which may offer scope for further liveries -buffers were removed.

  12. Do they have an online shop or do you have to pay them a visit?  I can't find a link to an online shop on their website.

Not aware of on line shop. I phoned number on website and did order over phone or can post. £13.95 + p+p £3.25 or £4. Very helpful lady , Nikki.

There is also an OO version.

  13. Several N commissions in 2018 from Swansea MRc, E Surrey N Gauge group,. Dapols Club Special. several of us enjoy collecting and using Turton's Books for background. Some are fictious liveries of course. I am surprised that more preservation groups do not do commissions as can do short runs. Several done in OO too.

  14. Lots of Peco commissions lately - Derails, Cheltenham Models, Hereford Model Centre, Harburn. Mainly TTAs and coal wagons. Also East Surrey N Gauge group and Swansea Model Club. I enjoy collecting coal wagons and using Turton,s books for background info.

  15. I'm guilty of collecting the CDAs they did...nobody wanted them and Pete wanted rid of them from the shop, so I offered him £5 a piece and repainted them all to make a 22 wagon rake of HAAs on the cheap. :pardon:

  16. Pennine Wagons have just received two Peco Iime wagons excusive to them for Briggs and Scott.

Cheltenham Models commissions seem to be selling well too

Peco seem to have had several commissions last year which is good for collectors and operators..
