What do you do if you are using the airbrush to spray cellulose paint?
Don
Ensure your airbrush has PTFE seals. I've had no problems since fitting them (and, yes I use a double filter respirator and externally venting spraybooth when spraying cellulose)

I really hope to be able to make this the first SWAG show I get to, all the layouts look superb, and I'd particularly like to see Ruyton Road again, as John was a good friend and I really enjoyed seeing the progress (& the finished result) as he was building it. Unfortunately I hadn't seen him for a few years and only found out about his passing when reading his obituary in MRJ - I was devastated to say the least....
It's a lovely layout though and a great legacy.

I actually remember watching that..... yes, in 1964.
Oh good grief, now I don't half feel old.....

I'm just p'd off that despite being a Welshman, and thus naturally entitled to a free bus pass from early next month, that because I live outside Wales,...... Outrageous, I call it.
At least you won't have to drive everywhere, or sit on a really uncomfortable bus, at 20 mph post September...!!!

And hopefully, come winter timetable, we'll still be able to use them on the Heart of Wales line!

... this is what happens when you're not paying attention and try to focus stack 3 separate sets of images together:
Having watched a couple of a leading landscape photographer's videos on 'deliberate camera movement' that ended up producing images I used to easily get on my box brownie without even trying, I think you might have created a new arty photography genre there....!! 😎

Strangely this thread looks 'normal' on my Chromebook, but your other sheepy thread is widescreen to me too.....

That's the kind of standard I'm hoping to get to
To my eyes you're not far off Rob.
Your standard is what I'm hoping to get to. One day... 🙂

in the 80s we were told to get behind a piece of 8 x 4 plywood,
I thought it was hide in the bath - preferably after turning the bath upside down ?! Unfortunately my 'Protect and Survive' booklet didn't survive being chucked in the bin!

Whilst on the subject of telephones (sheep for the use of), has anyone else noticed that SWAG day coincides with the day that the government has decided to test the emergency notification system to mobile phones.

make a loud siren-like sound, even if it’s set on silent"
Wonder how many heart attacks that might trigger....?!

That's very sad news, his East Anglian layouts (and those he did with Bob Barlow) were some of my all time favourite railway models, and the MRJ's with them in constantly live near the top of the pile....
RIP Iain

Daily LFT tests are all negative so far, but the curious tale of my brother-in-law and his wife keeps me taking the tests - they had Covid symptoms for almost a week before they started to test positive.
Exactly as happened to my daughter and family. Curious indeed...

To be honest, the symptoms I had when I tested positive in April weren't as severe as those I had earlier in the week and I didn't have this continuing feeling of lethargy.
That's the trouble now though isn't it, the symptoms seem to be constantly changing - I managed to leave my Welsh government inspired isolation to finally leave the house and get to the dentist for the first time in two and a half years on Tuesday. Bwfore being let in they asked me if I had any of the traditional symptoms - cough, taste, smell changes, fever etc.. But when daughter and co had their second dose they had none of those - just as mentioned in other posts what seemed like colds and overwhelming fatique. Dentist didn't ask if I had anything like that!
Anyway, get well soon.

Rob, hope you're feeling better today.
This is no real help, but I was just wondering what 'type' of LFT you're using? My daughter and family all went down with something and did a number of tests with the 'nose only' LFT's that showed -ive. However with no improvement in symptoms they had PCR tests done (when they were still available) which came back +ive....

The slight anomally is the 08 which is complete with a yellow Western Region route disc. But I don't wish to tinker with it and it can stay as is for now.
If you didn't want the disc to show Rob, you could always get some clear decal sheet, paint it a similar green to the loco and apply a small square over the disc. It helps if the green isn't exactly the same as it gives the impression of a transferred loco with the disc removed. After the show the decal should be easy enough to remove with a bit of sellotape,

I think it lifts the model, just a smidge.
A smidge? Mighty big smidge in my eyes! Cracking weathering again, really nice work!

Spent many happy hours in wet Welsh forests, usually in the early hours of the morning, waiting to get showered in wet Welsh gravel by a passing sideways rally car. And occasionally jumping into water filled roadside ditches to help push one out when sideways became backwards into the scenery....
Happy days....!!!
