  1. is changing colour from undercoat white to fitted freight brown without going via Post Office red.

  2. Very nice . . . definitely the best factory weathering I have seen. I went to order one a while ago for a Speedlink train, but they had sold out. Come on someone, list one on eBay
  3. Picture here of where the bufferbeam details go (see the note about the sandboxes): http://www.Heljan.dk/faste_filer/modul.asp?vis=nyhedmod&fModul=web588.asp&mode=laesnyhed&artikelid=255 Another picture here of an ex-works bufferbeam: http://www.therailwaycentre.com/Recognition%20Pictures%20Loco/Pic_Class15.html
  4. If you look at post number 117 in this thread (page 5), it seems to suggest that they are in stock. You may be in a long queue of orders being sent out but you are best chasing it up by phone if concerned.
  5. Modelfair have got the Silver Bullets in stock today, still showing as available at a very reasonable £22.95: http://www.modelfair.com/acatalog/Dapol_New_Wagons.html
  6. Heljan have posted a good picture on their website of the bufferbeam detailing: http://www.Heljan.dk/faste_filer/modul.asp?vis=nyhedmod&fModul=web588.asp&mode=laesnyhed&artikelid=255 There is also a good picture here of an ex-works loco: http://www.therailwaycentre.com/Pages%20Loco/Recognition%20loco/Illus_15.html
  7. This picture of an ICA-D wagon shows just the long pipe on the left hand side of the bufferbeam: http://www.garethbayer.co.uk/wotw/displayimage.php?album=293&pos=4 This is how I did my bufferbeam:
  8. The livery is correct on the production model. There are pictures of it in this thread: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/3962-modelzone-dutch-and-intercity-Bachmann-47s/page__st__50
  9. http://www.railway-models.co.uk/1238_1.html All four suffixes in stock at £27.95. One of them isn't available from the mail order site so you may have to phone one of the shops that has all four to avoid paying two lots of postage (order with Antics over £40 are post free though).
  10. They should be in the shops from next week as they were being sent out yesterday and Monday. A batch was taken to Ally Pally for the retailers there. In case it's of interest to you, Hatton's are putting their pre-order price up from £22 to £24 on Monday. At Ally Pally today they were on sale for £23.75 (The Signalbox), £27.95 (Hereford Models) and £30 (can't remember).
  11. Bought four of the shiny Silver Bullets at Ally Pally today. Absolutely stunning, just as I remember them coming through Dawlish Warren on a Sunday at lunchtime. I'll definitely be getting another four at some point . . . Couple of pictures below:
  12. Bachmann's 47835 "Windsor Castle" in Swallow livery now available for ordering on their website: http://www.Bachmann.co.uk/class47/index.php?id=4 I shall have a look at Ally Pally tomorrow to check they have got the white colour correct on the lower part of the body, as this had been painted grey/brown on the display model at Warley.
  13. Heljan have just added an annotated picture to their website showing where the bufferbeam detailing parts go: http://www.Heljan.dk/faste_filer/modul.asp?vis=nyhedmod&fModul=web588.asp&mode=laesnyhed&artikelid=255
  14. Thanks for that. I've passed on the news and told him that K&S isn't open until Thursday now!
  15. A few questions for a friend of mine if I may (here we go ): Have they painted a duck egg blue colour around the cab windows you can see when you look at the model face on? Is it easy to fit a decoder? If I may be nosey, he wants to know how much did you pay for it at K&S please? These questions are "for a friend", honest. I'm a sectorisation modeller me
  16. I've been at work since 5am you know
  17. Details of four of them now on Hatton's website: http://www.ehattons.com/stocklist/results.aspx?searchfield=railbus Is that M prefix correct?: http://www.railcar.co.uk/hisOthers/WMnum.htm
  18. As requested above, here are a couple of line-up pictures of my four new Bachmann Class 47s to allow a comparison of liveries. I think Bachmann have done a good job of capturing the colours. I have also included some pictures of comparisons with similar liveries on locos from other companies. The Hornby GW150 Class 50 compares well with the Bachmann GW150 Class 47. The HST InterCity livery and the Heljan RES livery are quite different from the Bachmann equivalents. Of course, it's InterCity Executive vs Swallow and RES vs Parcels, but I assume the main colours of comparison (creamy/brown on IC and red on RES/Parcels) were the same???
  19. Yes, I would have got one of these in the General livery; as you say, it has the rarity value.
  20. Reading the description on the Rails site and looking at the prototype pictures they have provided, this livery seems to date from just after the start of privatisation. It still carried the general user livery in May 1994: http://www.class47.co.uk/c47_zoom_v2.php?img=1151051087211 It was displayed at the Crewe Open Day in October 1994 (was it repainted for this?) in the livery Rails have requested: http://www.class47.co.uk/c47_zoom_v2.php?img=1151051080211
  21. Hi, if you're referring to the weathered one on Nigel Burkin's website linked to above, they aren't the Dapol ones; they are the ones that Nigel built himself. The Dapol ones are still planned to look like the picture on the Dapol website, although they have all now sold out at Kernow Models. The chrome finish ones look stunning.
  22. I had planned to do some comparison shots of all the Bachmann 47s, so watch this space! (can't promise studio photography levels though . . .). In the meantime, you may be interested in the comparison shots here between the Heljan, Bachmann and ViTrains 47s (good review of the Bachmann one too): http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/5246-new-Bachmann-class-47-review-and-comparison-with-vitrains/
  23. Hi, there is a list of limited editions on RMWeb here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/2139-list-00n-limited-editions/ If any of yours don't appear, please could you have them added to the list as it is a useful reference. What's this about 47 572 from Hornby Magazine? Not one I've heard about; is it still available do you know?
  24. My Large Logo blue Bachmann Class 47 arrived today; some pictures of it below with details fitted. This is a favourite livery of mine and they have captured it well, particularly the colour of the blue. The number 3 is smaller than the 5s, as per the prototype. Both cab ends are flush, again as per prototype. The body came off very easily on this one; perhaps I am getting well practiced at removing them!
