  1. Thanks Clive, Except for a pesky volcanic ash cloud, we would now be on holiday. After we return from something! I'll keep in touch about the other micro motors. Cheers, Ron
  2. P.s. I am also experimenting with the 4mm and 6mm micro motors from Mikroantriebe ( http://www.kkpmo.com/ ) mounted inside Feldbahn wagons to give an extra bit of 'oomph' for longer loads. Ron
  3. Thanks I had picked that figure up,and will probably try both 470 ohm and 560 ohm. My supply is a nominal 9volt, but it uses Pulse width Modulation, so the requirements may be different to that from a standard DC, smoothed or unsmoothed supply. There is some suggestion that a zener diode may be more effective, but again I would need to know the wattage required. For this it will be useful to know the resistance and current draw of the Portram motor. Ron
  4. Just joining this thread from the Antipodes (Well, they say that Tasmanians are always behind the times!). Please, what is the wattage of resistor that is used to replace the circuit board (470 ohms)? Has anybody measured the resistance of the motor itself? I am looking at using the chassis to put a motor into the Narobahn Jenbacher. Obviously there will be the need to fill all available space with as much weight as possible (depleted uranium ? ), so I need to replace the circuit board with a resistor. Thanks, Ron from Hobart
