  1. Thanks all for your help. I've currently got everything wired using 32 gauge, which is insanely thin and I didn't even think about voltage drop when I was wiring it in my ignorant state. I shall now go back and take it all off and wire it correctly. I do have a fair amount of speaker flex lying around - would that be acceptable as bus wire, do you think? otherwise I'll go out and specifically buy a few reels as advised above. Kay
  2. Hi all, I am quite new to DCC and I am making my first DCC Layout. Previously I have only ever done analogue layouts and used the old Hornby connectors to power the entire thing with no switches for sections or anything. I have purchased a pi-sprog, which seems to do the job nicely but I was wondering what gauge wire I should be using for wiring it all up underneath the baseboard? I should imagine there are resistance calculations or something similar that come into play? It's outputting 15v continuous to the track under JMRI/Sprog combination. Thanks, Kayleigh
