Well with little progress on the layout at the moment there is still work going on, I had a technical problem with my Bachmann DCC controller which decided to retire itself just as testing of the electrics started so my first purchase is a new Lenz 100 kit also treated myself to two kits from Make Your Mark Models so will be concentrating on building these for the next wee while. Nothing to report as work and decorating has taken priority just now but will get back to working on the layout once the hardwood flooring is done also needing more supplies which won't be until Ayr show in September. Davie

Made a start tonight on the loading bank for the factory which is still to be built on to the back scene.

They are for manual point control but have a built in switch so the polarity can be changed on the point. It's my first time using them so can only hope that they are as good as they look.

Well I'm glad that's the majority of the wiring done. The points are being controlled by Blue Point turnout controllers as I wanted to keep the wiring to a minimum.

After a while of inactivity on the layout I finally put it back up this week and started to do the roof, guttering and down pipes on the loading building.

Had a spare hour before the wife's back from work so managed to put one board up to finish the retaining wall.

Had a bit of spare time today so managed to stick the brick work onto the edge of the loading dock and also put the sleeper edges on. Also made a start on the bridge.

Roof, cladding and brick work started on the loading building. Also started the loading shoot but will need to test the idea before finishing it.

The layout is just under 8 feet long by 1 1/2 feet wide. It was built so that it is able to be transported in the back of a car and be easily assembled.

The layout will be freight only mainly engineering trains with the odd exception making an appearance. The yard is at the end of a small branch line, the branch also serves a fuel depot so a short fuel train will make a run round in the yard. There will be a small dock platform built in between the back line and middle line on the right hand end which will have a portacabin on it to serve as an office.

The start of the wagon loading building the first one seemed to be a bit small so second attempt which I'm more happier with.

Been planning a small portable exhibition layout for many years and finally been making some progress. It will be a small ballast yard with loading of new ballast and storage of small engineering trains, it will be based in the central belt of Scotland in the early 90's.
