  1. Good news CP lovers. The 1400 and Schindler services on the Upper Douro valley look to be go for summer 2020. The lack of 1400s is the main issue at present. Too many gone to Medway and the need to get the ones that they have left kicked back into life. Still, fingers crossed for some Moose action. If you cannot make it to Portugal, Wigan is your next best option on 3rd and 4th of October for Wigan Finescale Show where Camp De Leste will appear

Note: the yellow on the nose and under the number is a different shade to down the bottom of the body!

On the final shot the yellow down the side looks almost Colas flourescent yellow, but in the earlier two shots it looks like a warmer yellow.

Once we get one of these RTR that is clearly going to be a bone of contention amongst modellers when the production samples arrive.

Suspect the yellow side stipe might be reflective 'Scotch-Brite' rather than paint?

91002 for me. After the cracking job they made on the 87 (bar the pantograph), I am really looking forwards to this.

The 87 is a very mixed bag. Looks the part for sure but internally it is a dog's dinner, lighting is bonkers and the DCC provision and sound provision is lamentable. There isn't even enough room for Hornby's own decoder (non sound) to fit. I hope they have learned lessons and learned to listen to people who know this time around?

    hi Hayley

As the pan is fully functioning it may be difficult to offer it as a separate detail part due to It’s mechanism. We will try our best to sort something, but might not be practical. We won’t have a sample for warley I’m afraid, the pan is taking a lot of engineering, but we will have a full update on the 92 in the next week or so, so keep an eye out for that!

    Hi Charles,

The plan at the moment is to keep them direct, other than special editions with Rails, Locomotion, DPS etc., but that may change in the future, it depends how successful our trade experiment works out to be, we want to take our time and make the right call on that as it’s a massive decision for our business.

    Cheers!

    Fran

Here's hoping that when you say 'Pan' Fran you have remembered that they have two!! ;)

  5. More evidence of why 2020 might yet trun into a Golden Year in Portugal. Long stored 2601 out on test yesterday with the Schindler coaches with reinstatement imminent for newly electrified lines. (Not my photo) We have 1400s coming back, more Schindlers being refurbished, Sorefame coaches being refurbished and 1550s due back on Sines freight flows very soon too.

  6. Very exciting news starting to leak out of Portugal. The French designed 2600s are being assessed for some reinstatements. 1565 is at Poceroa for reinstatement for car traffic with others. 1400s being assessed from Argentine export group (that never went) for reinstatement from store and 1805 was moved as well..... Never say never. The most exciting week for years? Sorefame coaches being looked at too for reinstatement/ aircon.71512391_1081416965400467_8023271321523716096_o.jpg.d0ca5661afbf47313849702ce25d6e58.jpg 10812393_Screenshot2019-09-25at08_29_46.png.6d3f731614a6ca2bb29ba446df1e864b.png

  7. Waddon Marsh has its next trip out to Wigan Show. 5th and 6th October. We will be showing a couple of mods that add to the operational scope too. The old Gas Works coal drops which were at the top of the incline sited at the front edge of the layout will actually become what they always should have been, a shed is in build which acts as a scenic break and means loaded wagons will be backed up the incline and disappear into said shed with empties emerging a while later. You can see the shed in centre rear of this photo from early 70s with circular hole above door? Shed will need to be smaller but essentially same style, brick etc.

  8. Well Perth Show seems an age ago now but I have been away (and been busy) and have only just got to posting some more images. We had Arran Aird of C-Rail/RealTrack take some layout photos under properlighting and I sneaked a few with the phone at the same time.
