  1. Had a wonderful time playing with operating my 37051 at the club last night. Very impressed with the flange squeal functionality.

The Drive Lock feature was also very nice. Allowing me to set a speed then play with the engine thrash. Oddly, I couldn't find any mention of running in amungst the info sheets. However, I gave it 30mins in each direction to be sure.

I've had no issues with parts coming off of my model. Just need to work out if I'm fitting ploughs when I fit the buffer beam detail and do some weathering then it will be perfect. Part of me thinks I ought to fit crew tho.

I assume everyone will get emails about leaving reviews.

Probably covered before. Am I right in saying that the smaller speaker is not fitted to the DCC ready option. If not can I fit my own without any probs. Or is there one available as a spare from Accurascale. Apologies for not paying attention, will stand in the corner for the rest of the evening!

From what I understand, small speaker and stay alive are both fitted to DCC Ready versions.

It's the Accurathrash speaker and Sound Decoder that need adding to get the same as the DCC Sound version.

What the hell is going on with all this positivity? I don’t know about you but I want to see comments like “this model is, objectively, the best RTR model I’ve ever seen, but as I’ve had to wait a couple of weeks longer for it to arrive than I was originally told,  I now hate it and have just given it to a tramp to sell for food…”.

Nope, all good things come to those who are patient and wait 😁

My 37051 arrived this morning; it's great! Am amazed how well the flange squeal sensors work - that's a great feature!

Here it is in a very short clip pulling away on my layout:

    Kind Regards

    Completely forgot about them! 😬

Really looking forwards to running mine on Thursday at the Club where there's more space to try it all out.

Something that's grown on me is the AWS test when you change direction. Just need to remember to make the Cab Door sounds 😅

  5. Got home last night and immediately unboxed my 37051. Very happy with it so far but I only have around 3ft of track to try it on.

Even with that, it sounds very impressive. I very much liked the 'heavy' and 'light' options and how they change the way the loco drives. The brake and drive hold functions are also very good.

Very much looking forwards to taking it up to the club on Thursday where it will be able to streach it's wheels and get run in.

Plus I feel like with Lauda gone, the Merc engineers were designing based on the calculations rather than listening to the drivers.

I think they had to go 'all in' on one concept. The other teams could look at more options more thoroughly as they had more development time.

Merc were still reigning constructors champions last year. It's only this year that they now get more wind tunnel time and a higher cost cap.

Red Bull made the best use of their time. Now they have to maintain it with less development time and lower cost cap for being the champions.

They are chasing a moving target though. What do you think Red Bull will do? Keep pushing until the end of the season even after they have won both titles by a mile? A driver's 1-2 is a bonus for them. They are only really interested in driver's & constructor's titles, which they proved that last year. Once they have these 2 in the bag, they will switch to next year's car. This will be sooner rather than later if other teams do the same.

Yes it's a moving target, however at least the rules now restrict Red Bull more than the other teams.

Everyone else has more development time and cost cap to catch up to them. Personally, I think that is why Merc made their mistake with last years car. They didn't have as much development time as the other teams to use towards it.

Wasn't it Sainz who hit the wall in Sochi by trying to go around the penalty cone way too fast? Everyone else managed it because they were not trying to negate the penalty by going flat out.

Regarding Russell: what is the point of a penalty cone if the penalty route is fairly quick? It should not be possible to comply without losing a decent amount of time because that is the whole point of a penalty.

Ideally the FIA will review it & decide that the cone is insufficient penalty, then move it for next year to make it do its job properly. I doubt it though, it is the FIA: they will bury their heads in the sand & hope it does not happen again, like they usually do.

I think the point is to prevent someone taking the shortcut to gain an advantage. If it takes the same amount of time to negotiate the cones and rejoin then I think that's a good thing.

Of course, if there was just grass and gravel there then that would negate any sort of advantage gained anyway. 😄

  9. Keep the rules the same and everyone can focus on improving to catch up. The scaling budget cap will help this as those at the front will have less money to spend on going faster than those behind. Granted, those behind are smaller teams and may not reach their budget cap but at least the ever moving target will move slower then previously.

If you change the rules then everyone has to spend time and money adapting to those rules. Not just those who the rules are supposed to slow down.

    Hi Dave,

Not sure why you'd have any concern it's a scam? :)  The invoices are sent out on preorders typically 60-90 days in advance of expected delivery, but are not 'due' until the goods are stock, or just before (which we'll keep you informed of) in order to maintain your position in the packing and shipping queue. Any questions at all, our team are standing by in live chat, email, Facebook and insta DM and more !

I like this way of paying for pre-orders as it gives you flexibility on when you pay.

No sudden large amount disappearing because the model has arrived. You pay the invoice amount then sit back and wait for the model to be delivered. Sure, in this day and age of next day delivery you can feel like you haven't got what you paid for. However at least you don't have risk of a failed payment if there is a delay and another bill sucks up the funds.

You are safe in the knowledge that it is paid for and will arrive when it is ready. I'm certain Accurascale will keep us updated as much as they are able.

  11. Having watched the highlights this morning it was somewhat depressing to see Verstappen just blow past everyone. Checo must be questioning his teams wisdom in starting him on the softer rubber. I highly doubt that RB will allow the inter team battling to continue.

I think the advantage gained by DRS needs further controlling. First thing that comes to mind is the maximum speed gained being regulated to be a certain specified amount. Quite how they would test that however I have no idea and therefore that's why I think it's left as open as it is.

  12. So lets have two sprint races. One for the top ten in Sprint Quali and one for the bottom ten. Both paying out points.

Would need to incentivise people to go for the fastest lap. Like the points paid for the 'top ten sprint' are higher than the 'bottom ten sprint'.

  13. Think they will find the changes to the sprint will not increase the show as much as they are hoping.

Personally, they could try a seperate 'sprint championship'.

Points that are given out during spint races still go into the main championship but also pay into the sprint championship.

At the end of the last sprint weekend. The winner of the sprint championship is announced. Points are then awarded on a sliding scale depending on where you finished in the championship which count towards both main drivers and manufacturers championships.

Trick would be to NOT make the final race of the year a Sprint event so that the results of the main championship are not completely flipped by the sprints. You want there to be chance for drivers to make a difference if their sprint events have not gone well.
