  1. Really does seem like pointless duplication on this one - Bachmanns new model of Andania with its revised lighting and I strongly suspect new sound file, fans etc to match will be far better quality plus available throughout the country at local model shops.

Poor taste in the way it’s been marketed with the Great Train robbery loco. I will be sticking to the new releases from Bachmann.

    Thanks

Another model railway shop in Scotland.  Wonderful!  I must visit at the Falkirk Show this year

We will be at the show so if there’s anything you need at that time just let us know and we will make sure we have it with us.

  3. Hello everyone,

Having built my little train set Rannoch quite a number of years back now, I’m genuinely excited to see the Alcan Tanks being produced by Revolution. It’s been a long lived, iconic wagon of the last 30 years on the scenic west highland line. Realtrack class 156 filled a major gap a few years back but these really complete the line up. Although my interest is from 2005 onwards having researched for the layout I’ve seen all sorts of combinations from the 80’s onwards and such a wide variety of traction on the WHL and even more the further south they travel on both the East Coast and diversions down the West Coast to and from Blyth.

55022 in a more modern guise from Accurascale next with a rake of Rio Tinto tanks would surely look good on a lot of layouts for starters.

Great to see these being done,

    thanks

  4. Hi Danny,

With regards your HST, take a look at the AE 8 pin decoders. (Also 21 pin) These are very good value decoders from DCC concepts which I have been using in many Hornby, Bachmann, Dapol & Heljan locos straight from the packet. They provide nice smooth control and have been completely reliable.

If you want to give them a try or know more drop me a message and I can call you from the shop tomorrow.

    all the best

  5. Thank you both for the kind comments. Glad you like the models.

I still want the original Malcolm livery for myself to pair with the Collectors club model in red. The Bachmann class 90 is a very good model and we will do more.

We do keep a customer/request list so if you want a certain 90 livery we are out of stock on just drop me a PM with name and contact number and which loco you’d like and as and we we produce them we can call and see if you still want it. We can do with and without sound as well.

    Thank you

  6. Thanks to the team at Kernow, I was fortunate to pick up the last standard model of 47363 they had with them at DEMU on Sunday. It’s a cracking model and I’m sure will be popular for them. There’s a nice set of etched name plates and ICI logo in the box too. I always liked the old railfreight livery, still got my old Hornby model from the 80’s when I was 7 or 8 so it’s nice to see this Thornaby machine done.

    Thanks

    Mark

  7. Hi everyone,

37422 from the Collectors club was far too tempting at DEMU showcase so an SFX version was purchased.

It really is a step up on the previous release, looks the part and has some really nice detailed features. Runs well and sounds good. The lighting functions are the best yet on a RTR model in terms of what you can control via DCC. I’m looking forward to seeing what else is announced having seen the range of tooling on display (see Phil’s post from the photos he took at the show)

From a retailer perspective huge thanks to the team at Bachmann for not only announcing the model at the show but giving us an allocation of stock of the standard release 37430 to sell there and then. It was also nice to talk to the team and hear how much work went into the model.

    Thank you

  8. Thanks for sharing these images here Andy.

Hi Ben, it was great to see you at showcase this weekend and chat about all the new models coming. Thanks for letting me have a close look at the new tooling.

The 26 with car headlights is looking particularly nice, the detail around the tanks and bogies is very well

done with plenty of depth. The etch parts just add to it on the steps and the body side grills. Think

    this will be extremely popular.

I am looking forward to the 104 which again has lots of detail and variations. I can easily see the NSE and a blue one joining my fleet but the Mexican Bean will do very well in the shop.

The weathered 45 or 106 are a bit tempting.

    All the best

Careful Mark, you'll be upsetting the 37 lovers as there were more of them so they must be better than a 31.

And let's not forget 50s, so that make d*lt*cs 4th in line...........................

I’ve a fair few 37’s on order too.

Fran knows I want 022 in a more up to date version for Rannoch in future runs.

    Cheers

Your layout looks great! is there a thread for it that we can see more of it on?

    Cheers!

Thank you for the kind comments. I’ve not got a layout thread for this one. I really should get round to adding it and it will hopefully appear in one of the magazines once I write the article.

    thank you

  11. I have to admit I’ve become a bit obsessed with Bachmann's class 90. I think it’s a superb model and the new versions with sound fitted are well worth the money. These two are something a bit different which I managed to persuade Colin to do as production batches so I could add to my own collection at the same time.

90034 in its DB branding on the base DRS blue. 90035 was chosen as it was still wearing its very tatty EWS colours with virtually white numbers and letters prior to getting a fresh coat of DB red. Both models are weathered. I was very lucky to pick up the original base model for the EWS one for just £50 with decoder fitted via eBay. It needed work to fix the bogies and pick up wires but easy enough jobs to do.

I’m not sure how they made it to Morecambe off the wires lol!

    All the best

I’ve just read the information on Rainbow railways how it got the colour for Caroline, Myself and another apprentice worked at RVEL at the time and we was the only Apprentices. The information is untrue so I liked to know where it come from?

    Hi Rory,

All the information we post is provided from the direct research that Revolution obtain from the close working relationships they have. This was a story they have been told about how it got that shade and creates interest to the history of the coach. Fairly typical of the workplace tales that are folklore in some industries. The real truth is probably a wrong paint code at some point whether it was written down wrong or the error came when it was mixed. The important thing is capturing the correct shade on the model which the Revolution team have obtained.

    Thanks

  13. Hello everyone,

Colin has been busy correcting the Black BR arrows and also working on the slightly later Swoosh livery on the first of our new stock to arrive this week. The Dapol printing is well applied and therefore more difficult to remove cleanly before the new arrows/logos are added.

We are currently taking orders/noting interest via email at the current time and anticipate these will be around £140, so still below RRP.
