Hi Andy,
Hope you had a good hols! When I was a flying instructor at Valley the loop was always very busy and sometimes you’d join it to find a Herc in the way! Much fewer studes to train these days unfortunately!
Best wishes
Nige
Ahem . . . . Just a Herc Nige (Wham?!?!) !!!!

With the proliferation of MOD wagons recently and the ability to make short prototypical trains there maybe quite a strong market.
What's your crowdfunding target Arran?

Hi Peter,
That area is just crying out to be turned into a mini version of Gloucester Horton Road :-)

The 90's variant has a, what appears to be, significantly different colour scheme than others and the weathered variant! This ok?

At the time I interpreted the situation as Hornby saying "There's a problem, we've produced extra with a production run (The regional and network rail ones) and speak up now or loose out!" The loco's affected were known (31110, 270 and a green one). Sorry if you missed out.

I was some what surprised to find a small pile of very fine metal dust under the rollers of my rolling road; I believe having been finely shaved off the flange of wheels by the Bachrus rollers. The edge is very defined.
Now I always check back-to-back before using the rollers for running in but also use an oval as well. The rolling road is useful for identifying poor fitting wheels as it exaggerates the wobble and it's easier to identify the problem wheelset on a stationary - running - diesel loco.
Horses for courses I guess.

Rob - why don't you think about a track layout that is flexible and can be multi era with the change of structures. When operating PMPs Albion Yard for the first time I was surprised how it was a plain chassis with all buildings and even trees "plonk and play".
https://albionyard.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/img_8878.jpg?w=640&h=625
I was also impressed with the track layout with 2 run-round loops, especially the geometry created by using Y-Points.

As a sectorisation modeller I find Ringburn Yard vey pleasing (pun intended!)
Hope to catch up soon - perhaps at the Kemble Café ?

The Parcels Stock needed transfering down in the other Yard.

Ahhhh errrr Andy . . . don't want to be the Grim Reaper here but the Heljan duff looks like its displaying those tell tale Mazak failure symptoms. . . bulging poorly fitting body shell !!!

We're having a new kitchen fitted at the end of may and have had an electrician round to give me a quote for the major amount of work associated with it so while he was here I asked him to quote me for wiring up my garage and shed, the quote he gave for that job was a good £100 cheaper than the last guy who ever turned up after I booked him 2 years ago so I decided to go ahead with it
So finally after over 3 years wait I will have electricity in the shed, no longer need to run an extension cable out from the conservatory, the plus side is he can do it in a couple of weeks, I have all the bits he needs at the cable from the last guy so it will be done in a day
And heat . . . don't forget the heat !!

Mess room located, along with potential stores container. Buffer added to siding and VDA for effect. Still got ballast to add to the edges of the concrete and lots of weathering/weeds but I think the essence of the depot corner is looking a bit better now
Great work but if you don't mind me saying you need a container true to your era or 10 years before if it is being used as a spare store.
Hope this helps http://www.emgauge70s.co.uk/project_freightliner.html

Good luck with this - Hereford Yard is a interesting location for late speedlink era . . . . plenty of variety of wagons needing work.

Its a small wagon repair site - probably having an axle changed.

Where is the spare 67 Cab now? I have to admit I am gob smacked at the apparent lack of accountability for spares / assets on the railways. Stuff just left lying around in unsecure places.

Still no flush front or headlight fitted 45/1, ahh well next year is 30 years since withdrawal so you never know. 47444 vice a 45 on my passenger diagram it is then.
Now there's a thought. . . . . Next Year celebrate the Trans Pennine Route with Gateshead 47's New 45's with sealed beam and Trans-Pennine coaches . . .. .pebble dropped :-)

A cracking update plenty to be interested in, some to add to the wish-list and some to prompt / inspire layout expansion or refurbishment plans.
Good job Bachmann.

It was only one chip - have off such a buzz I sent it back to kernow.
Weird but very noticeable , like standing under high voltage cables
Yep some of my old bachy ones do that . . how strange !

Well. . . . they've moved again. Now in a Tiny retail unit around the corner. Crying shame to see such a retailer drop the Model Rail side almost in toto. I guess mail-order is the way ahead and 'regular' customers through the door will soon be a thing of the past.

Alright, this is kinda the back of a fag packet idea for the next one.
I like trains to run through really and it's a bit hard in 15',
Hence the branchline and hidden run back to fiddle yard idea - it's not mine I nicked it off the chap that did that small junction in N Wales in blue times ( think it was a Ken gibbons layout)image.jpeg
Great timing - that 'kick-back' into the fiddle yard has cleared a creative block for me on my plank. Cheers Rob ;-)

Possibly not actually !
I'm taking inspiration from some videos I saw of the round oak branch in the late 90s, so I was thinking about a few dmus as well.
I found the combination of traditional decaying infrastructure very enticing. And I like the steel trains running through strourbridge to go on up the branch.
I also find with a plank, if I can see all the stock it's not as interesting, so on this one I'm devising a kind of hidden branch line as well.
It's early days though - my next priority is to try my hand at weathering all the stock with my airbrush and by hand. I may even hold off and change this plank a bit first.
Rob. . . . .it's been an area attracting my interest recently. . . . . .bookmarked this : https://www.flickr.com/photos/71592768@N08/albums/72157636877739706

Hi,
Sure I read somewhere the MR dept isn't open all days now - just need to pop in on my way past to get some rail match stuff.
Don't wanna pay £9 for postage of said item
If you pass without popping in to take the **** I'll set that Northern Monkey on you :-)

I think if you had any idea of the strength and diversity of PMPs background . . . . . Or been to shows with him displaying layouts and engaging with both punters and other traders / exhibitors . . . . Or sitting in the pub / curry house /
strip club with PMP and other well known individuals from the railway trade, you'd realise that he's not one of those 'forum self proclaimed armchair experts'. He's passionate, knowledgeable and well connected within the hobby. I've learnt loads due to his generosity of time, knowledge and friendship. When it comes to discussing Warley and Traders and engaging with them I can tell you his "fact free opinion' is a dam sight more relevant than your
BTW - well done Peco; you've taken a leap of faith and it's good . . . more please.
