Given the age of the kit it may well have been designed for the old Farish Black 5 chassis. You might find that it would fit a current Farish Fairburn.
Hi Kris,
You are correct - designed to fit the old type Farish Black Five chassis.
Yes - it will fit the current Bachfar 2-6-4T chassis - may need slight carving on the inside to give sufficient clearance but plenty of meat in the castings to do this.
Thanks

Hi Alex,
In the early 70's there were some of this type tank used as storage at ICI Huddersfiled.
They were on a disconnected siding alongside the mainline, all piped up and never moved.
Trying to find the actual location on Old Maps - still looking!
Phil H
Edit - looking at maps - sidings woould have been btween Fieldhouse Bridge and Riddings Bridge, south of the line.

Hi Sithlord,
I'll have to check my boxes but I think I have the lon version somewhere.
I'll pm you if I find it.

Hi there,
No joy this end - the remaining brake van etches I have are for the Queen Mary van.
Upside of this is that it means I have 2 of each built - just where they are is the question?

Does anyone have one or both of the NGS etched brass LMS brake vans which they aren’t likely to build which they’d be willing to send to Australia? If so please get in touch to discuss. I find I’m a brake short for one of my SEQAG Challenge trains.

Hi all,
I'm looking for information abut the allocation and traffic patterns for both Rail and Road type horseboxes in the WR areas.
Records of what road horseboxes existed and where allocated and when?
Records of what rail horseboxes existed and where allocated and when?
I've been scouring the web trying to find information and photos bnut the pickings are very slim!
Thanks

Hi Missy,
Great looking wheel - not sure if I have any need for them, but great to see them anyway.
One of the things I've been looking at are some 9 spoke, 3ft*wagon wheels - to go into the 2fs rims and fit the 2fs axles.
Now, I know next to nothing (at present) about how to do this, but am starting by learning 3D CAD as that seems to be the way to get a handle on that aspect.
Thanks

I believe the issue is most likely the weight of the wagons, which would preclude their use.
Although TTA tanks previously worked to Lairg, I understand that these were not fully loaded. http://www.fofnl.org.uk/newsletters/17May/17may15.php refers to the wagons (TTA) being only 75% of full loading capability.
As such, I think it's definitely Rule 1.
Hi David,
Agreed - weight would be the issue.
Not found any to the north at all - furthest I can find was to Leuchers plus a couple of Central Belt workings.
Thanks

Hi there,
This will need to be a Rule 1 situation.
In the forty odd years researching and modelling the railways in Scotland I've never found anything for TEA on either the West Highland or Far North lines.

David,
Again, thank you for the information, especially the part about the extra lagging.
I think I'll just have to mock up a series of different barrel diameters in my drawing package and go with the one that looks most right, based on approximations from photographs.
Thanks again for your help.
Hi Pugsley,
When you asked this on DEMU Forum - Paul Harrison said he would send you scans from the diagram book he had.
Which ones did he send or did he forget?
Thanks

Hi William,
I used Humbrol 5065 - RAF Aircraft Blue over a white primer to get as near the colour as I could.
I had tried a rattle can grey to start with but didn't like the finish compared to colour photos of the real thing.
Thanks

Hi Phil,
The layout I am planning is LMS/LNWR/BR and I have been advised that this body wouldn't be seen on that layout. So, if you have something to trade then it could find itself attaching to your chassis! I am only just starting out on this little venture, so l'm looking for anything; such as track, curves or even a body that fits my layout.
cheers,

Hi Mike,
Finding a chassis - either a runner or non runner is a case of searching ebay.
I have a running chassiis and you ha\ve the body I wanted for it!
So - that will be at least 2 of us with ebay searches running for the item!
Thanks

Hi all - Great off and one I wanted to take up.
However, despite Paypal being shown as a payment method, the option to pay that way never appears and only goes to the Direct Debit method.
How can I use Paypal?
Thanks

Hi all,
I've used both the etch primers sold by Halfords and found the U-Pol to be the better product on metals.
The Halfords Etch Primer is great for plastic - especially the oily plastics.
I've also used the Precision Etch Primer on a variety of materials. It works well but can be a pain to clean up after.
I only mix enough for the job in hand as I found it had no shelf life once mixed.
Thanks

Thank you to everyone. I'm enjoying the contributions to this site.
Hi there,
This is not the original upload to Google Docs - it's a slightly smaller file size to enable it to be back on google docs.

Did you ask Worsley for those especially, or are you re-using parts he has available for other coaches/EMUs?Hi Carl,
I've had them for a fair while!
I think I asked for them to be reducd from the 3mm scale version.
Thanks

Hi all,
I've got the bits for one of these as well!
I've gone a different route though - but only slightly.
I've got the N tran cabx but am matching them with the Worsley Works etched sides plus etched underframes.
Thanks

Hi Dave,
The answer is yes - but....
Ultrascale OO wheelsets - if you can get them.
https://www.ultrascale.uk/eshop/products/CAT024
Other op[tion - if yoou have a lathe or access to one, is to trun down and reprofile the existing wheels.
Thanks

It's the way you have entered the date in row 1. You have entered a date as text, it needs to be entered as a number that is shown in date format.
Just beat me to that - agree - date format as text cannot be used in formulae.
Thanks

I consider it to be reasonably accurate, though I wrote it several years ago! You can always update the information.

I've also found Maurice's article on detailing the Dapol N gauge ones.

Hi all,
It seems I have set the cat amongst the pigeons in the guys family!
He is happy to just have an N Gauge model railway with the look and feel of a BR era, ex GWR BLT!
His Mrs would be happier if he modelled a real place - "at least we could go and visit the place to see what it's like now".
Anyway - she is now hoping that the pressies she has for him at Xmas fit in with whatever he does mdel.
So, thanks for all the info - it will be useful whichver way he decides, now I've to look at GWR BLT that will go onto his existing baseboards.
Yes - I forgot to measure them when I visited......
Thanks

Hi Mike
It will be a case of seeing what appears on ebay, what is avaiable from Farish Spares and Peters Spares.
Also put a Wanted add in N Gauge Forum or on Facebook N Gauge Forum.
Thanks
