  1. have you thought about soldered track construction as you already have a templot layout or are you planning to use easitrack from the off? I have been quite taken by south wales modelling myself having seen articles about Stephen Harris' Yaysnarwed Sidings of which there are a few photos on the internet.

All the best with your project

    Thankyou all for your comments.

I've gone the Easitrac route as can be seen on the second page, I must say it was a real joy to work with.

I really want to see Stephen Harris's layout, It was at Trainwest a few years back but I couldn't get their as it clashed with something else, I hear it maybe at Warley next year (2010) so may have to make a special trip too see it then.

    Cheers

    Trevor.

  2. Trevor - Glad to see you doing 2mm - especially as I am fan of your 4mm layouts.

Do you have a track plan and any more info on what you are modelling/era?

    Pete

    Hi Pete,

There is a trackplan and description of the layout on the first page, but basically it is end to end with a 4' x18" scenic area. The layout is based in South Wales around 1969/70 so quite a bit of coal traffic, my loco roster is a cl08, Hymek, 4x cl37's, Warship and a cl47, so a bit of variety.

I also have a layout thread article, which is quite active

    Cheers

  3. Wow excellent start Trevor and rapid progress smile.gif

That's about the same size as my Elan layout will be. I shall be watching with interest. I am awaiting my delivery of track parts to start.

How are you doing the point operation.. is it the same as Bryn used of this parish?

    Regards

    Graham

    Hi Graham,

I will probably follow Bryn and use the Tortoise, they are something i've used for a few years now on all my layouts and have been thouroughly satisfied with.

I did look at using the 2mm Association TOU's to save money but as my layout is on different levels It would be a bit awkward to feed the rodding back to the switches.

Good luck with your project, the Easitrac components are a real pleasure to work with.

    Regards

    Trevor.
