      My postman scribbles something indecipherable on one of your letters which is meant to read "Parcel at number..." or whatever. Have the red cards been abolished as a cost cutting measure?

    Volunteering at Pendon this afternoon. Have now mounted full blown search for my name badge.

      I discovered that one of my co-volunteers this afternoon can claim even more of a Crewe and LNWR connection than I, having been a contributor to a rather fine LNW layout featured in the January 1977 edition of Model Railway Constructor. Nevertheless, I think we got away with it.

      Have so far unearthed 3 detail frets, two packets of handrail knobs and a paint brush. Slightly worried that it might be buried on my workbench which at the moment looks like an uncontained explosion at Crewe works!
