  1. Hi Clemf - I'm pleased with them - they go together well, and I'd say that they are like a big 4mm Comet kit. The main things I've changed are to add cast door stops, and some extra details on the underframes - fuse and switch boxes. I've also bought the suspended gangway kits from Sidelines, extra expense, but that's my choice. The trickiest bit is forming the tumblehome.
  2. Or is it the Heyside line? And this is a more interesting pic than the LMS coach that has been here for years Anyway - time to get back on line after hanging about for ages. Having been busy with house and work stuff. Now with a bit more time available, and after completing some Heyside homework, I have lots on the workbench at the moment. The Sidelines LMS coaches are just in the processof being painted, now the underframe detailing and interiors are complete. I just used up 3 cans of Halfords paint in the workshop doing the underframes and bogies!I added the fusebox made from brass channel filed up and some brass wire poking out of the lower edge, and what appears to be some sort of switch box on the inner rail. The interiors are pretty well complete. So I've got these to line ( after getting the dust off!:- And all these wagons to number and weather! The Ivatt 2-6-0 is now complete, just needs painting, the final act was to add Scale Hardware rivets to the rather plain tender top. Preserved loco's seem to have welded tops to their tanks i.e no rivets! Latest arrival is the Tower J39, a great model, which will receive a little tinkering before entering service. So as you can see - lots on the go!

  5. Is now hooked up to the point motor control board. Took some working out with some boolean logic and luck. I now need to mount it on something, so that the whole shooting match can be detached from the layout. The feed from the control panel and the outputs to the motors will probably be added on site. I'm looking forward to getting back to modelling! Did anyone spot the deliberate mistake? I wired the second row of chips input into the output of the first row! Duh!
  6. I like it! Filthydirty, just like it should be, an excellent job Mike.
  7. Work is in progress to make up the diode matix and point motor control boards for Heyside's storage sidings. Basically it's just a single push button to set the storage road required. I'm indebted to John Bailey for Vero board design and component choice for this project. Further information can be found at http://home.cogeco.ca/~rpaisley4/CircuitIndex.html Here is the first control board, with the breaks being cut in the second.
  8. 2 of the 3 Sidelines LMS coaches I'm working on have been primered - it might be warm enough for top coat today. I also went to the expense of adding the suspended gangway, it does make a significant contribution to the clutter on the end of the coach - worth doing.
  9. Right - I think I'm getting it, the previous tatster shows mdoified ends with steel channels replacing the lower planks. Just working on 4 Parkside Opens that incorporate the wooden underframe from the fitted van, and the body from the unfitted kit. I'll be demonstrating them at BRM Peterborough alongside Dikitriki. Come and say hello. The fitted gubbins takes shape
  10. Don't say that! He's probably already making new ones from strips of nickle silver! It's a very impressive model and inspired me to buy the same kit ( as yet unstarted! ). well worth the trip to Peterborough to see it. Regards
