Ok so its now a week since the exhibition but I've only just got around to updating this with some pics!

The first issue I almost had was that some months earlier I'd changed the car!! I'd gone from a Laguna Estate to a Vectra Hatch so surely I'd need to hire a van for all exhibitions from this point on!........................

Nope!!! Infact the Vectra has a better load space than the Laguna!! Go Figure!

The weekend went well I think- if the feedback from those there and reading compliments on the net is anything to go by (thankfully Simon was on hand when we had a dead short on the middle of Saturday afternoon - not really a surprise given the heat in the room!!)

I did manage to grab these pics on Sunday, hope you enjoy!

Between dutys Sulzer Power dominates the yard.

The same locos this time from inside the shed.

The local haulier obviously not in a rush to return the pallets parks up out of the way.

Deep in discussion or simply shirking work??

Under an increasingly threatening sky 20144 readies that nights works rake!

No High-Vis jacket? Hope the powers that be don't see this!

Secondly and in The Yard for no other reason than it sounds fantastic!! Simons 50004

So if you're in the area this weekend pop along and say hello! We'll be easily identifiable (if the shirts get done in time!!!)

    Hi
As we are at Leeds this weekend (and off to the Lakes for a couple of days from tomorrow - Great timing!!) Thought it was about time to get Thorne Yard out of storage and rectify the little list of jobs to do after its last exhibition at Thirsk!!
Also I've been working on a couple of new bits for the show - Namely a Backscene (so we can hide!) And a factory back to hide the backscene!!
Well the work is 90% done so I've grabbed a couple of snaps! (sorry about the poor quality but the big camera is away for a service with me being off work for a week!)
I'll post some more when I get the time before during and after the exhibition!
    Regards

    Dave

    Hello All

Just as a quick test to ensure I can upload images I thought I'd post a few of the latest loco of the workbench - A weathered Bachmann 2-8-0 No. 90566 for a client that made a brief visit to Thorn Yard to ensure the running was correct and to pose for Photographs!!!

    Regards

    Hi Guys

Great to be back on line.

So as I've re-registered and set up a blog I thought I'd write something and let you know what you may see over the coming months!

I've been on here on the previous forum as DaveC46026 so you may well have seen my various threads on there - Thorne Yard being my layout, more of which to come later, but also bits and bobs from my workbench and my local club Darlington MRC!

If you've not seen Thorne Yard or its thread - The layout is a 4mm 16.5mm gauge representation of a departmental Yard in the Midlands around 1983. It has hand built track and is DCC operated with all locos on it sound chipped! So far I've taken it to Darlington, Bishop Auckland and Thirsk, but very shortly its off to Leeds, then Blyth, Rainhill and several more exhibitions for 2010 (I presume that this is because I'm cheap and is no reflection on the quality of the layout!)

My real interest is the BR Blue period, around the time I grew up spotting then bashing and I have a real thing for all things Sulzer with the more wheels the better attitude towards it! Thank-you Bachmann for your recent release!

My other intrest is in departmental rolling stock so from time to time I'll be posting various bits and bobs from the workbench along the depatmental line as well as some slighty off topic pics of various commissions undertaken for clients!

As the club layout gets going I'll probably also include this in the Blog although Andy B and Si (MrScorn) will no doubt be chipping in with their 2 penneth!

    Regards

    Dave
