How about the two of you get all your different Standards running on Duffield in two weeks time. That'll make an interesting sight.

I feel it's small variations like this that really bring out a model. When you'll look at the finished model next to a Britannia it'll be the change of length in the smokebox that really gives it some character. You now have a specific body for this class as opposed to having a Britannia body with a different wheel arrangement.
Two and half weeks until the mini open day - you'll have it done with a week to spare!

I'd shorten the smokebox and the running plate mate.
You'll only be wondering why you didn't when you had the chance in years to come. Like you say, you're gonna be adding new lubricators anyway.
Must say she's looking good, be interesting to see how many she can pull around Duffield one evening.

Thanks for dropping by and the compliment. I was at Scotland for a week in 1985 being based in Glasgow but trying to get as many 27s on the Dundees as possible so it sounds like both your brother's and your layouts will bring back some fond memories.
Glenn and I were saying last week that a layout based on Haymarket station would have lots of interest but would also need a huge fiddle yard for all the stock that was needed.
Don't forget to keep an eye on the layout thread for more developments (more photos should be coming soon).

Thanks for the comment and I feel that Bachmann are really missing out on a market not having done some other liveries. I think the problem lies where they didn't sell as many blue and grey Mk2s (of any type) as they'd hoped so didn't continue with any other variations in livery. All a bit of a shame really.

I agree with the points mentioned by both the previous posters. Personally I would have said slate/tile as before, it just seems to have that feel about it.

And I thought you were modelling in 7mm part of Cowlairs works!
Is this location a probable or just a possible, OO or 7mm and which era? I must admit whichever topic you are talking about you have an ability to keep the reader interested so keep us all informed and I'll be following your progress.

Coming along nicely Bob.
I'm sure you could find room for anothe 2m if you really wanted to!
Are you going to have some working winches by the traverser and what else was used to haul the stock into the shop in the first place?
