Looks good. A layout I'd love to build one day is Hadley Wood during the widening. Double track mainline, convenient tunnel mouths each end, good mixture of services, plus narrow gauge industrials trundling up and down. If I win the lottery....!

Rumours of a food shortage at this year's Spoonerism Awards turned out to be a complete lack of pies.

First photo shows 1068 clearly, seemingly with another couple of locos to the side and behind. However, the damage doesn't look too bad, at least from that photo. Burnt and scorched, but not irreparable.

Three Drewry shunters were exported to Eritrea in 1941. It seems two still survive, one awaiting a new engine at Asmara, and the other still servicable at Massawa.

Despite going there last year, I failed to take any shots of them! Bit of a way to go back just for a couple of photos.

LU have also paid for the overhaul of Met No. 1, so have use of the loco until the overhaul costs have been paid for. They have also paid for vacuum brakes to be refitted to Sarah Siddons.

The waiter said "For starters there's badger soup, followed by roast badger and finishing with badger mousse."
"Is there anything else apart from badger?" I asked.
"No", he replied. "It's a sett menu."

Saw this posted on Twitter today. Even today, activating track circuits seems to be a problem occasionally.

Apologies if this has already been posted.

Three from Döllnitzbahn a few weeks ago. Nothing too side on or conventional due to it being Halloween weekend, and the windows of the coaches being full of spiders webs and the balconies occupied by masked monsters! Neither the Trabant or the motorbike and side car were posed, just luck of the draw.

The last time I heard a model make that kind of noise was thirty years ago, an old knackered Triang Class 101 with a worn out X04 motor bogie and ridged wheels!! At least that managed to pull away under its own power even if you needed ear defenders!!!
Exactly what I was thinking! My dad had one, the noise, acceleration (lack of) and top speed (not very high) made it seem pretty realistic.

Harringay/Haringey. Also Crossgates or Cross Gates near Leeds, both names are on the platform signs! Newark Northgate or North Gate is another.

That wasn't the end for 7410. IIRC it was bought byRMS Locotec and was overhauled to become part of their hire fleet. Does anyone know where it is now?

Taken nearly three years ago mind. Not my photo, just the first one that came up in a well known search engine.

Approaching the summit station at the Brocken a couple of weeks ago. Middle of February and no snow up there! Normally snow is pretty much guaranteed from September til May.

I've just seen on the news, Boy George's pet reptile has attacked 5 people. He needs a calmer chameleon.

After speaking to Hatton's, it seems that they are checking chassis to assess whether they need replacing and if so, they will do it themselves. Could it be that some unscrupulous people have been trying it on just to get a spare ? I will now do the work myself as i have added extra detailing and weathered mine.
My dad wrote to them to say there was a problem with his Cl. 17. First Hattons said they'd send out the replacement chassis when they got them in, but then he got a letter through asking for him to send the chassis to them to be sorted. He sent it off and then got a phone call saying there's nothing wrong with it. He told them that whenever it was pulling a load it would slow down considerably, and they said, yes, the good ones do that, but the bad ones burn out!
