Square rodding introduced 1932 according to an official blueprint in my possession.
Of interest - as Mike has mentioned it, here is the round rodding at Blue Anchor in 1975.

Winchcombe in 2002, interior was on page 13 of this thread.
This box is a replica, a picture of the Winchcombe site in 1980 - note no box (and no station)!

Just checked Street View and this gorgeous cabin at Minety has been replaced by a featureless portacabin. Copyright forbids me from posting the after picture, but here is a link.
I can say that the flower baskets seem to be common to both cabins.

GMT, BST, EST? I thought RMweb had a global presence (in the English speaking world)?

When smoking was banned on London Underground (now TFL), one got used to avoiding the former 'smoking' coach - it stank. Victoria Line circa 1984 I think.

DS10 - very high revving motor - still it's probably 30 years newer than the loco body ...

The Model Engineer shows have already been mentioned, held at Wembley Arena (C1980), later Ally Pally then at Earls Court. Certainly multi disciplinary. I remember Studiolith was there (for non P4 modellers, that was a supplier) among the model suppliers, plus a number of model layouts. As the years went on, the small scale model railway layouts and traders became less and less. But the show was still good for tools/airbrushing equipment.

I can't help wondering if the sequence shown in the trailers might have some connection with his Variac routine.
Whatever the score, I suspect that any sequences involving this guy really need prominent warnings - along the lines of "DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!"
Don't believe everything you see on TV!

Was regularly getting this error, I'm on Virgin fibre (120mb), working currently.

Here in my area we have http://www.kypwest.org.uk/ a fantastic resource, complete with slider. Maps from tithe up to date.
Maybe you need to think outside the box. For example, if it is your area, your local council/record library may have the maps you want. You might have to travel.
Pre internet, this was virtually the only way to get mapping.

What is the problem with any trestle is the enormous amount of room they take up when being transported.
I made my own that interlocked for transport - took up about 1/4 space they used to take.

Hornby Dublo did this when they introduced one of their three rail diesel models, the Deltic, in 1960. The PR exercise was to demonstrate the power of the new Ringfield motor. Three Deltic locos hauled eight stone Miss Glenna Ferdinand on a "special trolley", which rather puts Sam's efforts (or the pulling power of recent RTR locos) to shame.
Frankly however what Sam's stunt really has to do with model railways I don't know.
Yes, all been done before.

Pooley was the GW contractor, nothing to stop you using that bridge on your 'joint' line.

Ffestiniog was a very interesting place, the box had been closed for some years, all the pointwork had been removed, but everything else was still there.
