    56113 failed on Gresford Bank on 6M54. Poor driver has to tie it down, get a taxi from Gresford to Crewe, get a spare loco, drive it to Wrexham via Salop and go and rescue his own train. Not what you come to work for really! At least he knows where his detonator protection is.....

      Reminds me of two men I know who were crewing a Hymek on the Fairford branch not long before closure. When it broke down at Fairfordthey had to catch a bus to Oxfordsto get a spare loco. When they asked the signalman to set the route, he said "I can't the token's out." "Don't worry, we brought it with us!"

      nice! They've now decided that the shunter from Chirk will come up to Pandy to meet the driver and take him to Crewe. It seems to take far too long to sort things like this out nowadays...
