Very nice job you've done there. What size strip have you used on the bodysides? Is it 10x20 thou?
I have one of these tucked away in the project box and I think I've come to the conclusion that a shortened Comet 50' underframe will be the way forward.

Dragging this thread back to life eight years later.
Can you remember how you got the Gibson tyres off the plastic centres?
I’ve decided I need a Dapol 29 on Clackmannan Goods and have ordered a set of 22 wheelsets to have a go at using your method. Hopefully they are the same as the 29 wheelsets. I know Gibson wheels have had a reputation for having loose tyres in the past but my spare ones seem to be fairly well attached.

Rich, I was able to get P4 wheels into my Hornby Shark (and HAA) by carefully paring down the back of the W irons with a new scalpel blade.
I shall watch this thread with interest to see how you get on fitting the new suspension.

Looking good Mark. Always good to see updates on your layout and stock building

Nice to see somebody else interested in full length grain hoppers. I built one for Longcarse West and have another three or four to do but it's such an involved job adding adding the side bracing in the correct position and building a new chassis that I can't get excited about doing them.
Aren't Bachmann rumoured to be looking at doing these wagons - another reason for me to hold back and wait.
Cheers
David

Thank you for your very kind comments on Clackmannan Goods.
I really enjoyed the show and thought all the layouts on show were of a really good standard. Wellpark was my favourite as it mirrors an idea I have for a future layout as well as having so many interesting and well observed cameos with lots of 1980s dereliction.
