  9. 1st pair of "c" switches successfully filed up, they fit up and wheelsets passover smoothly, now to trim switches and closures as a unit.... didn't notice that one had shifted on the template when marking up :( now got a "c" switch/closure unit that is 3mm too short. Time to add wine and remember breathing.

      aaaah but the third one didn't burn down,fall over or sink into the swamp, its not only a very functional "c" switch...... its a very tidy looking one too :D

  10. 3 fishplates returned from the bossom of the carpet and promptly glued to the rail with the rest. The day can't all be bad.

      ta much. Off tae Smiffs I go. I've a feeling that part of the problem is caused by try to be clever and pre-tinning and trying to sweat these with an rsu. They're taking a lot of solder along the edges and are chunky. Possibly back to clamping together and using capilliary action to fill in future.

  24. All Hail the asymetrical 4-sided shape. The board shapes are sorted but I'm now thinking that even at 1/4 size maquette all layouts should be on embankments and not in cuttings.
