chequebook standing by ready....
Shout when you got it all sorted.

I'm sorry to hear about your health, but hope that you're on the mend now.
Thanks for keeping us updated regarding progress. Like all good things they should be ready when they are ....... ready.
Have a peaceful and Happy Christmas and all the best for a productive 2020.
Regards
Steve

I hope that you’re on the mend and keeping out of mischief. I’m still very much interested in buying the Tennant as before, but may be a tad tardy in replying at the minute as I’m working away weekdays.
All the best and thanks again
Steve
ps. Put me down for a j25 too please
-
Arthur,
thanks for that. Given my geographical interests, how could I resist. You've got my details from previous orders? Let me know when you need payment etc.
Regards
Steve

I'm definitely interested but am "between" jobs until November so have to be a bit careful with the finances. Would that be anywhere near your timescale?

Two I think, 12 April and 31 October and perhaps more to come;-)
more......? Do the neighbours know they're about to be annexed, or is the experimental multi height fiddle yard concept being reworked into a multi storey shed towering over the surroundings and resembling a PSB?

Your shed has had more extensions than Brexit. Haha
.... well viewed from space, the shed is visible while the house is not.

Arthur, can you put me down for a J25 when they are ready please?

I'm not allowed round the front.
it's a complicated, risky place, full of junctions and canals, you don't want to go there..... trust me.

The pictures indicate a massive amount of work, but the descriptions truly indicate a massive leap forward. Looking forward to getting to grips with new improved LCJ with go-faster stripes.

Doh, of course, P!SS up.
...... and an SLU is of course the British imperial measurement commonly known as the "standard leaning unit" most commonly applied after the PU of course, unless adverse weather requires emergency SLU usage in advance of PU application, due to say... a hurricane on the way to the pub.

To master that many simultaneous moves?
Obviously not one of us
......switched out and under the nearest ROC that day

Looking a mite congested. Who was on the LCJ panel?
Is this level of occupancy in the local instructions as a legitimate means of preventing the Clyde-Clyde express?

authenticity fail alert: that new signal box needs a minimum of 14' of chilly under floor cavity to accurately emulate the drafts coming up from the a locking room. Is there room for a kettle and stove and will LCN Jct beat Loughborough to having a wc? Your making rapid progress as usual John, looking forward to seeing the results.

All signal boxes are now more or less complete, the only thing that's missing is some signals!!
and the stoves and kettles?

That many netties...... did curry and stout arrive in Rosedale that early?
-
Made a start on the buildings behind the terrace, there's even less info on these, only the outlines on the map to go by so there's a lot of guessing.
They should be about 6" further back but they have been brought closer so the baseboards stay a sensible size.
Problem is, they're going to be mostly hidden.
And a little detail for Stubby...
a 4mm netty! Will it contain a 4mm............

thank you both, that gives me something to go at.
In which case....... any idea of the nominal thickness of a tyre at the outer face (non flanged edge) ?
-
On opening a loco kit, we are usually faced with buying some extras, wheels, gearbox, motor etc. If we are lucky the instructions detail what wheels are required, so off we go to the appropriate website or show stand and exercise the credit card. If no info is available off we go to the "reference library", ascertain what is required and then partake of retail therapy. However I am curious at what is meant by these given dimensions. When a wheel is quoted as being of a particular size, is that purely covering the machined wheel prior to it having the tyres pressed on, or is it a figure accounting for the increased diameter of the tyre too, and if so is it based on a brand new tyre, minimum acceptable thickness or a median figure?
I'm trying to workout if it might be feasible to rework some 00 rtr wheels by turning off the flanges altogether and replacing them with "tyres" scavenged from a suitable aftermarket replacement........ why you may ask? Well no-one does a proper 3mt wheel for p4....... and my hairy shirt is not itchy enough.

I have heard of boilers for locos undergoing a heavy general at Darlington North Road coming in by rail from Crewe, and vice versa. To some extent, as had been suggested, it would depend on which main works had a suitable spare available, and which had spare boiler shop capacity. I would be interested to know if any of these "stores" moves went via Stainmore or were they all routed via York.

As a thought on when this is at the stage where you get to play trains, have you thought about live streaming the action, I think it would be quite popular.
...... swear box on standby and a fresh box of form ones for the district inspectors please. It's certainly entertaining, but wait 'till the block shelves are fully up and running, then we will get seriously impressive.
-
You've been playing trains
....... and after today, I can only answer "Indeed, yes, we most certainly have".

As the inaugurator of the first Clyde - Clyde express, I share your pain!
Kevin
aye but you were just showing sympathy to your fellow man: Weedgies wilt in the sun if allowed outside down south (even Irn-Bru will not revive them) and Londoners open their mouth and end up bobbing in the Clyde, so you thought keeping them apart in their native habitats was the most humane thing to do (honest, you did didn't you? )

The chassis is brilliantly designed, easy to build and works well (at least in P4). My G5 is just about the best performer on Humber Dock, so fear not - you'll be fine.
Ian
Any further details on your suspension choices would be most welcome (sorry to hi-jack)
NORTHEASTERN KITS

I'll own up to taking the opportunity to get these kits with future plans in mind, so sadly can't as yet repay your efforts in designing them by showing anything finished, but now life is settling down again I hope to make a start this year. In the meantime, I keep planning, watching, reading and learning. Thank you all for sharing your builds, revealing the pitfalls and "tricks" and along the way inspiring.
