Apologies if this has been covered before, but the Hattons website lists "Normandy" as LSWR Black (as preserved) (I realise that they are only selling it and it is Dapol who decide what to call it but Dapol simply list it as LSWR B4)
Should this read SR Black with sunshine lettering, which would make it valid for 1940 ish, rather than LSWR black?
And the caveat "As preserved", is this because by then the cab would have been rebuilt, in which case what livery would it have carried with this cab in real life (i.e. not in preservation)? (Does that make sense?)
Thanks.
Edit - I've just found the following on Graham Muz's site:
Normandy in preservation has an open cabs whilst 88 and 90 both had closed cabs. 30096 before preservation in BR days had a closed cab that differs from 88 and 90 as it was modified from an open cab at the start of the war. Dapol they have confirmed to me that they intend to produce the correct different cab variants.
(My emphasis in Bold)
So hopefully it was painted into Wartime black before it had he cab rebuilt?

Anyway I am looking forward to my Gate Stock, I am sure when I see it I will be hard pressed to find anything wrong as I don't have the luxury of drawings or having seen one in the flesh to know any better - sometimes being ignorant can be a blessing.
Agreed 100%

The frosted out picture of the 2018 catalogue is fully visible in the Collectors club update. Someone at Hornby have made a boo boo !
Unless this was deliberate?

What a brilliant facility! Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

The reality is very different... I still have Bachmann 4-CEPs .........

I found a way to improve class 71 speed on DC (only) by clipping a connection on the PCB. Do that on DCC however and the locomotive might never run again.
Hi, which connection is that please, do you have a photo?
Thank you.

Finally got to see the samples at the weekend? BR livery, ok if you like that sort of thing. SR livery, very nice indeed. SECR livery? Dear god, what were they thinking? I really hope that what I saw was the original sample, and not the re-thought livery. If mine turn up that colour, there will be a set on ebay the following day.....
Why, what's wrong with it?

Thank you for that.Hopefully my Sothern lined green should not be too far behind.
Hopefully not too close behind - I know it's my own fault, but I've got H class, P class, Birdcages, Gate Stock and probably something else all arriving in the next few weeks / months...
Roderick Bruce confirms the green version will be closer to the end of 2017.

Sitting down won't do it much good either.
Anyone done a layout in a birdcage?
There was a OO9 layout in a small suitcase at Warley a few years ago.

So rather than a new model, isn't this (just) a new version of an existing model?

It does seem a bit out of character for Kernow to promise to hold the price of £99.99 for each gate stock set and then to ask for payment two months in advance of dispatch or they will raise the price to £120 per set.
I am amazed that they have been able to honour the original price of £99 to anyone after nearly 6 years, I'm more than happy to pay up front for my (4) sets.

Kernow commission ex LSWR Gate Stock Pull Push Sets
in Kernow Model Rail Centre
Posted
I've ordered more than 1 set (1 of each to be precise). The delivery e-mail from Kernow suggests that all 4 are coming as one package, due Monday.
