The obvious load is porcelain, although I suspect that would usually have been crated and sheeted in an open. However, some high quality stuff for fitting out the first class dining rooms on a liner could well warrant a van.
Nicely built as usual.

A couple of generations back, our local Laird in Dumfriesshire whose castle had a private siding off the Caley main line was a big fan of hunting with hounds. Maybe more popular in the lowlands. His descendant claimed they had a private carriage kept there, but I'm not convinced.

More stock needed too.
Ooh good, the prospect of more learning opportunities.

What's the anachronism, Dave. I thought it must be something to do with the tenements, maybe the shops, but I'm stumped.

I really like 0-4-2s and that one is a beauty, finished a treat.
That is the first model railway I've seen where the backscene continues through the window!

I try to view the forum as a range of group conversations in the pub that I can wander between. Folk nod, smile and make approving noises when someone is talking. We don't have those non-verbal elements on the internet and so, to a degree, the buttons can serve that function. I get more peeved by the single word "wow" or "drool" or whatever, especially if the person has also quoted a long entry complete with pictures that are available just above.

Not sure Wally Dugs would normally warrant a covered waggon.
But - a goods yard in Stoke....
"It's routed through Partick, sir."
"Get it off that wagon and into a van."
