    E-Z Command

PSU? Sorry, I don't know about DCC terms. If PSU is the power pack, then yes, it goes into the DC controller and then power goes though the link cable to the DCC unit as per the instructions. The only track connection is from the DCC unit itself to the Track. Jon

    E-Z Command

I know they're not normally compatible which is why a full isolating section has been built into the layout's next rebuild so I can run them side by side. However for some reason, you can do it with Bachmann DC Controllers. You can plug in a one out of either a Graham Farish or a Bachmann Train set into the back of the E-Z command to freeup an extra DCC channel (10) while DC is controlled by the DC Controller. This is because the two are linked via a cable and the power goes via the dc into the DCC. What I found annoying is Torrington is barely a fortnight old and it somehow managed to fry the chips while being able to run perfectly on the DC only layout. Its wierd so I'll go to Gaugemaster on Sunday and see what they say about it. Ironcially, everything brought that day that's been used seems to be faulty in one way or another (This and Tornado) so I hope that the rest of what was bought (point motors and the isolating section) are fine :S Jon

    E-Z Command

And now onto the EZ Command/Hell. I got it today with a number of Hornby Decoders and installed the system exactly as it said to in the Instructions on a separtate line using track from the set. Placed My class 25 on it for a quick test run to see if it all works which it did to my relief even if i was making more noise than I expected........ As the 25 was my only DCC fitted engine, I decided to try one of my many 0-4-0 Club member models on the DC mode. No response from either the solo controller using loco address 10 or on the added DC controller. I then tried to fit a Decoder to my newer Bullied, Torrington. A large amount of smoke appeared from the decoder (for the size of the thing) and then nothing. Tried another, same effect. Tryied another Decoder in a different engine (my Grange, Hardwick), no smoke but no response either. I then tried all three decoders on my incredibly reliable Class 50 and well, nothing. What I find even wierder is they all work PERFECTLY on the main layout which is still in DC mode. I'm taking the set back to Gaugemaster (where my parents got it from) on Sunday to get it looked at as I've been waiting close to 4 years for this and when I get it, it's broken. Any Ideas as I can't start my next stage of work till it is sorted (well I can but it will knock out about 45% of the layout short term :S A very annoyed Jon
  4. Good afternoon, Firstly, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And from my lovely family, I got a lovely train set. The Bachmann E-Z Command Passenger Set which includes a Blue Class 25 and two Mk2 coaches. I'll write about the EZ and the HELL its given me Later. 5. Or maybe the model's correct for now . I've got a shot of it from a few weeks ago and it shows the whistle isn't on the top of the deflector anymore. It's where it is on the model. Said Shot: Well, the real thing will be pulling something similar next august . Can't wait . Jon
  6. Would appear so but to be honest, very few people will spot it but they should have been modelled at the price of it. Jon
  7. Your wish is my command Here's some of mine I took yesterday: Jon
  8. Evening all, After Christmas, (when I get my DCC Offically), the third and hopefully final rebuild will be carried out on the layout (famous last words). Anyway, below is what is planned plus all the related DCC chipping. Jon
  9. Evening all, Got round to adding sme photos of my pride and joy, Tornado Stunning model and will be even better after the latest in a long line of rebuilds (see separtate post). All I need to do is add an many of the details as I want and then she can go into full traffic. Anyway, here she is on Doveston (links only for the short term): Jon
  10. It would appear that I'm the first customer from Gaugemaster to have one And sadly, the first person it seems to have to get one replaced The number's been ruined on the right hand side byt some molden black plastic from the hand rail it seems when it was added on mine. It is brillient though and I'm sure it'll be great when I get round to using it Jon

    New Arrivals

Evening all, I'm managed to get a new engine for Doveston, another Bullied. This time, a West Country 4-6-2 No.34031 'Torrington'. Fits in nicely with my Mark 1s and Blackmoor Vale (the other Bullied). While detailing Torrington, I finally have gotten round to updating the 04 with lamps, detailing and its horn while at the same time giving Scotsman a crew. I'm waiting for the 25th because that's the day when the most radical change to any of my layouts will happen and I can't wait. Sorry for the picture quality. My Camera was having a off day and very few pictures turned out well. So, Here's Torrington: And here's the 04: Jon
  13. Well, There's a new control system to add plus there's a lot that needs relaying. A lot of electronic work on point motors etc but I'm happy with it. Jon
  14. Sorry, only just checked back to this. Its 3ft by 4 ft so tiny.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QSLGd6SbNc Bullied Country Episode Introduction:- This is the Main introduction which will be used for at least the first Episode. It shows all the engines (bar a certain Peppercorn A1) which I plan to use during the series itself. It was also the first videa where some of the main operating problems with the layout were found and these will be fixed before main filming. Also, It showed that a deicated screen or cloth needs to go behing the layout during filming as I'm almost certain people won't want to look at the inside of my living room.

  18. Evening everyone Welcome to Doveston Works. This is where I will update you all on progress to Doveston itself and to the rolling stock that runs on it. Unforgently, there won't be many updates with regards to layout for a while as I need to save up to get the parts I need to continue. Here's how the layout and rolling stock looks at present. The Layout's Topic: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/1972-doveston/ I am looking for a Gresley Double Chimney for my A3. Anyone know where I can get one?
