Thanks for your help. I understand what you are saying. I have now 'unfollowed' some topics but I looked at 'notification settings' and cannot find what to turn off.
No problem - if you go onto your Manage Follow Content, then click on the 'Change Preference, a window will appear where you can Unfollow, or change the notification setting to None, or emails to immediate, daily or weekly.
