  1. 3mm is alive and well down in sunny West Wales - we currently have three layouts built using 12mm peco H0 track, and quite a bit of old Triang stock. As 3mm John says, the 3mm Society is a good one to join - access to plenty of kits and parts. The biggest challenge with 3mm (or TT) modelling is the scenery and trackside. Most things, particularly buildings have to be scratch-built, though you can get away in some cases with H0 figures and vehicles, if you tuck them amongst other things! Best of luck with it. Shaun.
  2. Hi Neil Bit More! That loco may not have gone down the Carmarthen - Cardigan branch, but it definitely was on the main line. I found a picture of it at Lampeter station - it's a BBC web picture, so I don't know if pasting it is allowed... I don't do auto links, so this is the copy and paste: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-mid-wales-12607631 it's the fourth picture along. Shaun.
  3. Hi Neil. Having done a little bit of digging, I don't think it's either NCE or Llandyssul. I think it might be Pencader, as the station there was timber construction, with two chimney stacks similar in structure to those in the photo. I'm meeting a couple of friends at our 'Chuffer Duffers' get together in Cilgerran tomorrow, so I'll pick their brains (before the French red kicks in...) Shaun.
  4. Hi Neil Found this in my collection and thought it may be of interest. It's either NCE or Llandyssul, we are not sure which. The photo belongs to me, so there's no copyright problem. ATB Shaun.
  5. I can't think what match that might be! Hope to see you on Saturday Mike, but if not, do take care on Sunday - there could well be a bit of bother... ATB Shaun.
  6. Back to shows - There is a small exhibition of model railway layouts at the National Woolen Museum in Drefach Felindre (between Newcastle-Emlyn and Carmarthen) on Saturday November 2. Pop in if you happen to be in the area. Shaun.
