    Just back home after taking my son to work for a lectrure on The Bloodhound, given by Richard Noble... very enthusing; what a project; WHAT a machine!

      still have the BBC thrust SSC documentary on tape somewhere. that was amazing enough, but seems lo-tech compared to this! :-)

      He went through Thrust 1 (oops) Thrust 2 and Thrust SSC in the lecture - some nice footage too. Bloodhound is more than this though... it's there to act as a focus on youngsters - to get them inspired in engineering to want to be an engineer (something we're beginning to lack).... we had harriers, vulcans, concorde etc etc to get us inspired; kids today need something to make them stand in awe and say "I want to be part of that" - the best bit is - that's exactly what it...
