  1. End of an era... sat at my desk and noticed a 757 lining up at the end of Gatwick's 23L... in BRITISH livery. This was the BA machine that they painted in retro colours prior to retirement... and this was then stored at Gatwick with some of the ex-fleet. The aircraft looks as though she's just left these shores... carrying a N-reg and already powered by Fed-Ex's engines... the sight of the original BRITISH 1980s livery looking as splendid as ever on these always modern looking ma...

      V1000..! Now there's one that doesn't get a mention often! Yes the view through the trees isn't bad... just glad that I caught a glimpse of red... and then watched the grand old lady go off to her new life in the US. She was waiting at the hold behind the all-orange easyjet 319 - their 200th one... quite a contrast. She then pulled forward after a BA 734 crossed the threshold... somehow the 752 in the old livery looked more modern than the 734 in the current one!

      Ah yes, formerly G-CPET in the "Negus" livery. Nice gesture by BA to repaint.

      Yes, well done BA. I had a air-to-air of one of the G-BIK# series on an exercise book when I was school... never did a livery suit an airliner better. Sad to see it go.... but glad that I got to see it one last time.
