Hi Jon,
Just a thought but have you tried fibre optic cable (avail from ebay amongst others in a variety of sizes) You can get the sheathed variety which I had success with on a 47 project. The sheath can be cut back to expose the fibre optic which can then be cut and shaped to protrude through the body at the right diameter. It also allows you then to create a light-box where there is more room.
Just a thought
Hope it Helps

Hi, yes, I did think about that but have yet to convince myself that I want to light-fit this one... it's not a 21-pin version so would need all lights adding, including those for the headcode which would mean replacing that too. Not convinced that I'mm up to that yet, but thanks for the suggestion.... I'll keep an eye out for some.

hi jon
I get mine done by a guy who is excellent and reasonable. he is steadily working his way through my fleet that don't have working lights. He is good value too for an excellent job. I think it really makes a difference. he did a superb job with my 40. Could PM his e mail address if you want.

Re-wheeling....whats on your list? For the average modeller with some hand skills its easy. Ran a re-wheeling workshop at scaleforum this year ..1st time ever.
In simple terms relating to diesels... couldn't be easier than taking the shell off, taking the keeper plates off the bogies, removing the wheels, bending the pickups out a bit. Refit the new set, lube and replace the keeper plates. You don't need a set of wheels to try.....just remove a set from your deltic and then refit...

Back from a great day at scaleforum, wallet lighter, plenty of extreme etches and new wheels, plenty of inspiration and good face-to-face meets. Thanks to 43179, shedmaster, enterprising western and Captain Kernow (apoligies to those who I forgot) A great day.
