  1. Thanks for the mention and I have been a fan of the Mogul as it looks so balanced but I think with the 93xx they got the design just right.

It is indeed, at this time in its life (1938) it would have been 17 year old so not in the realms of neglect yet......plus the GW held these locos in high regard for mixed traffic so would have been looked after....I've assumed!

Normal service has been resumed and here is todays picture. Well two to be exact, but not exactly two if you follow my drift, basically the same picture but cropped to bring the 93xx closer.

Now I have to say that the 93xx class is growing on me. With that modern (1938 after all!!) cab it seems more balanced and purposeful than its predecessor.... Note. The strut laying on the platform slope has now been refitted to the signal box smoke stack...sort of fell of when dusting the roof.

Today, looking through the rectangular window we see a Pannier and a 93xx about to pass. Exciting isn't it?

And casting care to the wind I set up the tripod on the main line and got this picture. Mind you the Station Master was shouting at me a bit though.

After the comment about funnels and being black inside I though this afternoon I would remedy the situation. So what better way to paint them was to get the stock box's out and paint them all whilst all safe and sound in the storage box where they can't move. So here they all are ready, static to the left and working ones to the right......also note how the railcar is looking on from the viaduct with envy? And to think in Match 2017 this was my entire motive fleet

Thanks Difficult I agree but then I worked out a work around. This what I do. I use Industrial grade liquid 'super ' glue which I add on the end of a piece of rope then pulled to a point in my wetted fingers (so glue doesn't stick) to form a hybrid needle. not big say 2-3mm in length. Hand drill a hole slightly larger than the rope can go through to both the tarpaulin and the wagon side. Thread the rope 'needle' through this hole and I use a pin in a pin vice to help push it through, when happy add some glue to the pin and push that through the hole. Let it set and bend the rope to the direction required. I also, if required, add a blob to glue to the rope/hole area to strengthen. Let it set and I touched up any visual glue with some Vallejo dirty rope paint to conceal.

Still on the wagon theme. Here are some pictures sent in last week from our train spotter friends, one of which must have been stood behind the old barn and resting the camera on the fence.

Nice idea Next boat I plan to build is a steam tug, which due to lack of suitable kits I might scratch build.

Lets have a wagon day. A few weeks ago I realised that I only had a few GW open wagons so thought I ought to sort this issue out so over the last few weeks additional rolling stock has arrived. So here is the currant situation with open top company vehicles being pulled by 9319, which I think looks a very balanced loco. Starting at the front. Two Cambrian Models ballast wagon kits Dapol RTR 20t coal wagon Ratio Open C (S/H kit) which was going to have a load of pipes on board but the interior planking came out rather well (IMHO) so will stay for now. Three Ratio 5 planker's two covered and one with a sand load (all S/H kits) Two Cambrian Models steel sided wagon kits - one open (this will have a load but not decided what...yet!) and the last one with a mixed load. And bringing up the rear a very old Hornby Toad At the moment I think that will do but I do enjoy building them as they are rather short projects so no doubt more will be added.
