Has anyone had any success with those slaters slates that come printed on to a sheet to be cut into strips and assembled onto another sheet of plain stock in rows. I tried them once on Dunsters goods shed roof but the lot bowed so badly I resorted to wills for the main roof. The office has the slaters ones though. Shaun.

Its a model! ,far from accurate. When I go on to model Minehead that will be very compressed also and only a scale 225 yards from Dunster!! I will try to find that book you recommeded first I think, budget allowing of course! -

Thats right! I added the up starter for opperational interest. The lamp in it cost more than the kit which I found at a show for a quid. The best pound I think I ever spent. I also realise that the down distant should be fixed so I could install the siding disc and use the control from the distant. There are so many projects on the go already its hard not to get distracted. -

The sgnal I built up combined two ratio kits one quite old with sectioal posts that I drilled out in order to pass mico fillament wires to light the lamps. The signals are removeable and fully opperational! This was not easy to achieve. There is a picture somewhere on the internet showing Dunster signal box being jacked up and loaded on to a well wagon (I would assume). It also shows a junction bracket signal with two arms albeit without the arms themselves, both red! The layouts old configuration was suited to this as the line split in two just past the gates towards the fiddle yard. Now I have changed this by adding a new 4' section the signal is wrong. I should construct a new signal with a disc! Still, working signals are so much fun I am more concerned with building signals for my other layout Goathland which faces the same problem as the signaling differs over time periods. So I might have to start waving my modellers licence about. Shaun -

The station flower beds are paint. Gorse behind the station is made by sprinkling yellow scatter (Woodland scenics I think) over poly fiber fixed with hair spray, and the garden behind the post office is a Busch kit! We have the weeds kit ready for the revamp! -

A note on the videos. The sharpe eyed among you might notice that the layout is facing the spectators. This not usually the case! When set up at home the layout faces the opperating well. One day it will be incorporated into a much larger sceme. It may not make any further show appearances unless requested due to how dificult is is to get the 6x2.5' boards in and out of my truck. I can see the need for a back scene now I have seen the videos and having a grade A+ O-Level in art there is no excuse for not having done it yet. the canter on the viaduct and through the station is much more apparent veiwed from the back side. At the show in 2011 we watched this with great fascination all afternoon on sunday and I hope to capture this on video and post it up here because it's just real cool! S'quatch -

Dunster was our first layout done in 2009 I beleive. It has had some serious revamping in the tree department. Learned some tricks from Don at the Medford Model Railway Club & then incorperated some new ideas of my own to create Dunsters new trees. You can see in this video that the old trees are pretty bla. Check out the fencing in this video. Mr. Sasquatch wanted it along the track but didn't want to spend that much money. So I said why not use match sticks! Drill holes in them, paint & then thread beading wire through them! It was a real hit at the train show. The beading wire gives the fencing a convincing cable wire look to them. Here are two videos from patrons at the show. In this video Mr. Sasquatch devised an plan and created his own moving gates. Don't ask me how its over my head! Especially when he explains it to me. Here are some photos of the new additions to Dunster. New trees, as you can see in this first photo and then a small house & greenhouse/nursery. I'll try to get some videos on here of the new Dunster soon. Mrs. Sasquatch(SWMBO)- 233 replies

This is Mrs. Sasquatch, ahem (SWMBO). These are videos from the 2011 Medford Model Railroad Show. Mr. Sasquatch got the boards done one month prior to show. This was a challenge for me to do his scenery. Will be honest I was a bit moody at times. Got most of it done on my days off from work. Luckily I have four days off! with Mr. Sasquatch! grrruuuff xo Thanks for all your lovely scenery comments. This is my second layout attempt. Plenty of trial and error & more to learn as this will continue to grow into my husbands dream layout. Mrs. Sasquatch Edit: Thanks to Steamtrainfan1992 for taking the time to put these videos on Youtube and to Mrs. Sasquatch for finding them and posting here. Sasquatch. -
