  1. Thanks Bruce and thanks for the info about the Quail Maps. I remember the sidings have a few things in a few times i was there but i was never lucky enough to see any movements in or out of them myself. I have seen photos of trains coming out of them though. I also remember the 1st couple of times i visited the signalbox was working but after that it had closed and had become a waiting room. my everlasting memory of the place was my first visit though, we got off the train in pouring rain (well it is Scotland ), walked down the steps to the underpass leading to the road and looked up and down the road... saw the phonebox and nothing else... i got very close to that phone box that day!!! but i love the place and once made a model of it in N gauge but i'd love to do a more detailed version (and more accurate) in OO, i've got the engines and some of the stock... just need to build the actual layout now! i've put my Rotherwood project on hold for now. I think in September i may stop off at Ardlui to get a few more photos just for reference. My photos of the station were just these three...
  2. Loving this thread, along with the Sheffield end of the Woodhead route, Scottish railways are an equal love (the highlands especially) Does anyone know of a book or somewhere on the web where i can get track plans (and decent detailed photos) of Scottish stations in the Highlands? in particular i'm after plans of Ardlui in the 80's but i'm quite happy for anything earlier, even from steam days and any other stations like Crainlarich etc... are welcome to be honest I have some photos of my own of Ardlui in the mid 80's but they aren't really as detailed as i want. in advance payment of any info here are a few of my own Scottish 37 photos that i'm currently uploading to Flickr
