Great write up. I wish i had read it sooner though .... I received a 1361 from Rails today with EXACTLY the same running issue you described. I have been trying to run it in but then it locked up and i too spotted the clearance issue ... Did you receive a working replacement or is it a fundamental design flaw ?

No joy on the phone either ... thanks for replies . I give up....

Has anyone heard from DC kits recently? I'm not getting any replies to emails over the last couple of weeks.

I would have loved to attend this year but unfortunately I have other commitments. I do however live in Ashford :-)

Thanks folks :-) I am glad to see they are still in existence. Every time I have tried to search in the past i was directed to an online shop ! Lol

Hi all,
Do any of you know what happened to Ashford model railway club ? Does it still exist, and if so where can they be contacted please?

Looks very eye catching and should fit in rather well in the location

Nice to see Roger Daltrey is actively involved with this project rather than just lending his name. He was at Ashford Borough Council offices today. See www.kentonline.co.uk for more (ashford section).

Great to see Work has Started on this brilliant project. The concept is Spot on in My Opinion , and the location is great . Good luck with it & when you need volunteers please get in touch. I live a few hundred yards away

Well and truly gets my vote ! I am a very active railway modeller and this is a fantastic idea. I live in ashford too so if u need a hand, you've got a volunteer right here ! :-)

Hi there,
Firstly - AWESOME layout - secondly, I'd love to come and have a look at an exhibition - has the Biggleswade appearance been confirmed yet?

Morning all,
I'm giving the missus a lie in today so been up with the kids since 5..... They would pick today to wake up early! lol
Might tackle the rest of the wiring on the layout today once I've defrosted the workshop
May your weekend be packed with modelling bliss !

My top 3 for "inspiration" would have to be :
1 - Tonbridge West Yard - Paul Wade
2 - Maidstone Barracks (Anyone else remember that one?)- Paul Wade
3 - Burlington Northern empire modelled by Tim Dickinson
Happy Modelling

But surely one person's perceived "cliche" is the next person's idea of humour? It doesn't personally offend me when done tastefully. One thing that does get me going though is those irritating little cars shooting around a layout guided by hidden magnetic track or whatever. Clever concept, but given the option of seeing them whizz around at 0-60 in warp speed , I'd rather see stationary road vehicles on a layout.
