  1. Thanks for responding. I hope you manage to get it resolved ok.
  2. Great write up. I wish i had read it sooner though .... I received a 1361 from Rails today with EXACTLY the same running issue you described. I have been trying to run it in but then it locked up and i too spotted the clearance issue ... Did you receive a working replacement or is it a fundamental design flaw ?
  3. No joy on the phone either ... thanks for replies . I give up....
  4. Has anyone heard from DC kits recently? I'm not getting any replies to emails over the last couple of weeks.

Start putting the odd quid/fiver in a big jar and then wait for the new release you want to be reduced by 50%... Works for me.

  11. Why do people film themselves opening their new models from the box for the first time whilst warbling on about them ? I must be missing something. .

  15. Thanks for the update Martin :-)great to hear things are progressing. If you need a hand at all don't hesitate to get in touch.
  16. Anyone in the Ashford (Kent) area into Garden Railways ?

  17. Just to clear up any confusion about my comment yesterday. I think in progress articles are great. But frustrating when the finished model is not shown as well. Like articles of the past with "here is model" and "here is how it was acheived". Gives more of something for modellers to aim toward.

      Sounds reasonable enough to me.

My problem comes with "constructional" articles with no "how to" content - in which some guy merely says: "I built the kit according to the instructions - and here's the finished product".

I wish all magazine editors had the guts to reject these out of hand.

Yes that is another classic actually. Jumping out the steps they took to achieve the next stage of the project. . .

  18. more model magazine articles of unfinished models.. sort it out !!

Some people like to see how things go together and how projects progress so maybe your preferences aren't true for everyone.

Personally, I prefer to see the "in-progress" stuff - partly for the reasons Andy has suggested - partly because (having a technical mind) I'm interested in how things work.

Nothing wrong with the "finished article" stuff either, you understand - but I've always found the "in progress" stuff to be more useful to me.

Ah you misunderstand. I like the in progress stuff , but it needs to be coupled with the actual finished model too. How articles used to be presented. You know, here's the model and here is how it was done.

  19. I saw these road rail cherry pickers today near my house and thought they would make so interesting scene on a layout featuring OHLE. I've got photos of more road rail vehicles which I will upload in the near future too.
  20. Is anyone else fed up with seeing unfinished projects in magazines ? Finish the damn thing first before writing about it !
