  1. Both the planned NSE releases were 47/7s and none of them ever carried original NSE.

I think when he said 'Original' he meant the NSE that was originally announced in the catalogue but deferred rather than the livery.

  2. Hi 59205,

    Please read post 28 above.

    Cheers

    Dave

    Hi Dave

I had read that which was what prompted me to respond. I knew I had read on here in the past for the plans for a red stripe 56 so pasted it for that reason. Also to prove I wasn't going completely mad as i placed a pre-order with Rails shortly after it!

I'm not after an argument, and i'm not going to cry about the fact there is no red stripe 56 (there really are more important things in life!! ) my intention has been purely to back up my suggestion that maybe the intended production list was amended slightly.

Best wishes with the project anyway!

Rails have done the same and have it as red stripe railfreight too..

This months model rail magazine also describes this one as a forthcoming release. Production versions changed after announcement perhaps? as it seems a bit strange for 3 different sources to have this apparently incorrect information. Anyways hopefully a red stripe version will be produced in the future!

  4. Interesting to note, my pre-TOPS blue arrived the other day and I appear to have no issues clipping the pantograph down as reported by some people. :scratchhead:

    Lucky you then!

  5. I bought one today and what can i say..,......WOW!

To say i'm impressed is an understatement, this is the best model i have ever purchased, superb value for money.

Take my hat off to Bachmann for a truly outstanding model.

  6. I picked A NSE unit up today at last. Have to say i'm really pleased with it. My unit is a great runner, the lights are fantastic and the livery application is top class. Tucks in nicely next to my NSE 2EPB and i for one am a happy customer.

Please remember that the current Bachmann catalogue covers releases for 2011 AND 2012.

That is correct regarding this years catalogue, but this model was actually first announced in the 2010 catalogue so has slipped back a bit. I had read September in one magazine but i'd imagine it's release to be closer to September 2012 rather than 2011!

    Best Wishes

  8. Anyone know if these are in the country yet? Looking forward to mine.

I've heard it's going to be June before they hit the shelves. Don't take it as gospel though.

  9. This is very disapointing news! I had emailed Hornby when the March newletter was released to ask why they broke their promise of a March release. They havent replied, not even to say when it is now out. I now see why, thank you for letting us know the news. I fear my budget i have assigned for two KFAs shall now be spent on somemore Realtrack Models FLAs! :D You snooze, you lose with me! (I have told Hornby they have lost a customer due to bad handling over marketing and production delays)

The production delays are affecting everyone, granted Hornby more than most but still. Its disappointing they are going to be delayed but they haven't 'Promised' anything.

  10. I just fail to understand the why they need to sell them in "Twin packs" to justify the investment. If it's going to be that good a model then surely they wouldnt have any trouble shifting them singly over time. £100 is today around the going rate for a 'top end' loco and thats fine, but i personally cannot justify spending near enough £200 to get my hands on them when i only really want one. I just find it somewhat frustrating. Rant over.

  11. Received my loadhaul version in the post this morning. No certificate with it, contrary to the product description on the hattons website. I have emailed Hattons for clarification on this. Anyone else got a Loadhaul version yet and if so, did you get a cert with it?

First impressions are I quite like it. I never saw the real thing in operation but I have to say the livery suits the loco.

The cranks look a bit weird, almost bent if you are looking down at them, not sure if this is supposed to be the case or if other models are the same.

    *gribble*

They have advised me that the certificate will be sent out to me separately as they have not yet arrived.

    Cheers

  12. I've just received the following response from Hattons to my query regarding the two types i.e. later flat window versions vs. wraparound on the originals:

    Quote:

As the Class 28's are still in the early stage of production we have not got all the specific details.

However from the designs from our modelling department it looks as though it is not a wrap around front cab on any of the editions.

More information should be available as the release date (2011) gets nearer. Unquote.

I would be highly surprised to see both versions on a limited edition run although anything's possible. Does anyone know when the modified cab windows first started appearing - in particular, did any actually run in original plain green with the later 'flat' windows?

The e-mail response there must be an oversight from one of their staff, according to the page of the plain green one here http://www.ehattons.com/StockDetail.aspx?SID=33375 it clearly states 'Wrap round windows as delivered' in the description.
