    The "layoutaholic" strikes again.

With the Household Manager decreeing that I must move my railways into a shed, the obvious opportunity arose to create another N Gauge micro layout in the "Kidmore" series. This time, & unusually for me.... a tailchaser. This would take the form of a front operated 6' x 2' country station layout with three lane fiddle area at rear. Whilst being much bigger, 50% than my "normal" layouts, I still needed it to be transportable to exhibitions so the 12" at each end are demountable.

Problem: as all previous layouts are prefixed "Kidmore", I have Kidmore Magna, Gumstump, End, Yard, and Depot I can't decide on a layout name so this one has a working title of "(Just) Kidmore". Any suggestions more than welcome. Trackplan together with the other layouts may be seen as usual at www.kidmorengauge.weebly.com.

"Kidmore Gumstump" will be at the Oxford MRC's exhibition in Witney this Saturday, May 21st.

Members may be interested in newly added construction photographs of the N Gauge micro layout, Kidmore End (part of the Kidmore series of micro layouts). These may be seen at kidmorengauge.weebly.com. The layout has been booked, sight unseen (!), by the Amersham MRC for their exhibition in 2012.

Why is it that planned layouts create a life of their own & your original ideas of neccesity become morphed?

To this end I have now renamed my micro layout, formerly known as "Kidmore Fuels", "Kidmore Yard". Photos & details may be found at Kidmorengauge.weebly.com.

Members may be interested to view a new web site detailing my micro N Gauge layouts, ie layouts of less than four square feet. Site is www.kidmorengauge.weebly.com.

    All comments valued.

Members may be interested in the addition of a new photograph of the construction of "Kidmore Vale", the latest in the series of Kidmore N Gauge micro exhibition layouts. The image may be seen at www.kidmorengauge.weebly.com. Comments appreciated.

I have now added a new layout to my "Kidmore" series of micro N gauge layouts.

"Kidmore Depot", as yet uncompleted, may be seen at www.kidmorengauge.weebly.com. The layout in it's uncompleted form had its first outing at the open day of the Berkshire Area Group of the N Gauge Society.

I expect to be starting a new semi-permanent layout in May which will break my own self-imposed standard of not building layouts greater in size than 4 sq ft, this will be simply called "Kidmore". The layout has only becomes possible given the Household Manager has decreed that I must get a shed !!

For those following the "Kidmore" series of micro N Gauge layouts, & in particular the build of "Kidmore End", new pictures have been added to the relevant construction page on www.kidmorengauge.weebly.com. This layout has been booked for the Amersham exhibition in April 2012 despite being still a work in progress.

Exhibition Managers may wish to note that I have now added "Kidmore Yard" to my portfolio of available exhibition layouts. The Yard's first exhibition has been booked for the N Gauge Society (Berkshire Area Group) show in Reading on Saturday 2 April 2011. This new layout may be seen at kidmorengauge.weebly.com and exhibition managers may contact me via that site or this blog. I am always happy to consider last minute bookings. Happy Christmas & a peaceful New Year to all members.

As a diversion from my "Kidmore " series of N Gauge layouts, I have now added as an experiment a simple T gauge effort to my collection. This may be seen at kidmorengauge.weebly.com on the "Kidmore Home Farm" page. The simple tinyness of this scale gives N a whole new emphasis; N is huge by comparison ! Followers of the Kidmore series of N Gauge efforts may also be interested in further construction pictures added to "Kidmore End".

Continuing in the "Kidmore" series of micro N gauge layouts, & with the virtual completion of "Kidmore Yard", I have just started work (actually there has been a bit of an overlap) on my new layout "Kidmore End". Initial construction photographs may as usual be seen on kidmorengauge.weebly.com

Unusually for me this is much larger than my normal maximum of 4sq ft as it measures 5' x 1', but I have split the board in two for storage !

My problem is that I'm a layoutaholic but as this will be my fourth micro in about 2.5 years, the household manger has advised that that is it unless I sell one off! Maybe later.

For anyone following this N Gauge layout's construction, the house & garden have now been completed - although not as yet fixed to layout. Pictures etc may be seen at Kidmorengauge.weebly.com. This is the final structure needing to be built & all that remains is the detailing & final weathering of the entire layout.

I have now added photos of my work in progress layout, "Kidmore Fuels". This 4' x 1' layout has been designed with three aims in mind: to be used standalone, to connect to one of my existing exhibition layouts, "The Kidmore Gumstump", and to piggy-back an N Gauge module built to the Nmod Standard of the N Gauge Society. Further details may be seen at Kidmorengauge.weebly.com
