As people have already observed, it wouldn't take much for Bachmann to produce a 4TC as they've already produced most of it. If the 4TC was successful maybe we could hope for a 4REP too! We can but dream!!!

In regards to the picture of the pre production 33/1. Does anyone know if the jumper cables true representations of how the production jumper cable will look? I only ask as the ones in the picture look rather large. I'm looking forward to seeing them in the shops, sooner rather than later. But it seems more and more likely that it'll be nearer March than January.

Also, does anyone know which version of the green livery is being produced for 33008 Eastleigh?

Note that they're doing the BSO and TSO in NSE, but no sign of the FK.  Did any Mk2a FKs carry NSE livery?

I don't think so. In NSE days, I think that it was more BFKs that were used rather than FKs. Either way, I'm very pleased to see NSE liveried models coming from the Farish stable.

I don't have any proof, and it's probably my memory playing tricks on me. But, I think I remember seeing some (1 or 2) of the 47/7s at Waterloo when they first started on the West of England trains still with, scruffy, Scotrail branding but obvously it didn't last long. I didn't take too much iterest in the 47s then as they weren't 50s!! I have often wondered, "what if" the complete push/pull trains had come south instead of just the 47/7s!

I don't, actually - be interested to see how your detailing proceeds? My one E8 doesn't have the rooftop cylinders which I think were fitted on some/all at some point, and possibly on the Kato model as well? A 12 car set must look great - even my 8 car one looks cool (to me).

 

There was an article in N Scale Railroading a while back, but I don't have the issue handy just now. There was more than just the cylinders, but it didn't seen too hard. I think the hardest part now is to find the Microscale decals they used. The 12 car set does look great-even more so now that I finally got round to changing the couplings so they stay together now! But your 8 car set looks a lot cooler than mine at the moment as I've not got anywhere to run it at the moment. I've also got a Life Like ABBA set too. What couplings did you put on them in place of the rapidos?

That's a great picture! I like those SD80s too, I have three of them! Only mine are a CSX and two Conrail and as you say, they're impressive! I'm the opposite of you, my models are mainly modern, with a few older ones. On of my favourite trains I have is two Southern E8s and a 12 car Southern corrugated set. I'm hoping to detail the E8s sometime as there's a lot of differences between the Kato models and the actual Southern ones, as I'm sure you already know.

Thought I'd add this ebay shop to the list of good traders. TJ model trains a family run ebay shop. Prices at really good levels. I found that most of their Cannon & Co details parts are cheaper than Cannon's own online shop. They also charge minimal amounts for P+P even overseas. Just bought $30 detailing parts and they charged me $4.50.

 

Service is good too, I asked back in early Jan if they had or were getting some detailing items that werent listed, I had an email 2 days ago to tell me that they had some new items that I might be interested in.

I'd like to echo Dave's posting. I recently ordered a small amount of detailing parts from this seller and they were quick to reply to queries and the parts arrived quickly. However, I did notice that they have a lot more listed on ebay.com, for example under BLMA N on the .co.uk site there's 41 items listed and 75 items listed on the .com site. All are listed as worldwide shipping. I haven't checked all their categories so I don't know if the same applies elsewhere, but it should be something to keep in mind.
