'NO ETNRY'? Was that a genuine road marking error of the time?

I spotted that as well and was going to mention it, you beat me to it 😆

But other than that, it's looking great Andy.

Would love to see it in the flesh sometime.

I might meet up with you in the shop one day when I'm at my daughters in Strensall.

    Regards

Not really, TT (1:120) still has a sizeable following in Europe, so I'm guessing Peco are looking to 'muscle in' on the track market (currently shared between Kühn and Tillig). A shame I've already built my Czech TT micro usung Kühn track.

And me, just finishing off the track laying and motorising of the points on Rennsteig 🤨🤨

Yes got to admit it was a very good show, spent a great weekend as guest operator on Beijiao, until we had a major System failure at 2:00pm today which killed half the layout.

But it wasn't really about the playing trains at a show, it's also about the social side and spent far to much time talking to people who I haven't seen for a while, and new aquaintences,  and far too much money on beer in the evening, just don't tell SWMBO 😜😜

I think British TV tries quiet hard to get period details correct, I have just watched a drama on German TV set in the 1930s, which featured a modern bendy bus and satellite dishes in several shots.

That may be because 1930's Germany is probably very difficult to reporoduce these days, especially as it was slightly remodelled quite a few years ago 😉😉

  4. RAF Melksham, which is now Bowerhill Industrial Estate, use to be rail served. I know this as my Father-In-Law did his Trade Training there during his National Service as an Avionics Technician.

He also confirmed that when he went on Leave he causght a train from RAF Melksham station and then on to Nottingham.

I was at RAF Henlow in the 1980's and although the line had long gone, you could just about see the remnants of it if you looked hard enough.

A small parcel arrived from Harper Collins today….the delivery company left it in the middle of a stack of three recycling boxes!……they left a note to let us know.

So my copies of the Cross Country book have landed.

    Hi all,

    N gauge PoP2 99% complete

I need to add draw gear and the mk5 hk pack.

It's designed already but not printed yet.

Looks like cost will be around £105 now as I have managed to locate some other wheels.  Price of n wheels has gone up a lot sadly.

Anyone interested, drop me a line.

    And

I AM WORKING ON AN N GAUGE

    APT-E

I was working on it when revolution announced they where going to do it, So I stopped with mine.   Its now back on......

    Paul,

    Me, Me, Me 😉😉

Put me down for a POP2.

    Cheers

Very pleased with the way DL ran - especially with the new bits and a two-year layoff.

And a novice operator getting to grips with this Witchcraft control system :P:P

In all seriousness, thanks for the invite to play trains operate this fabulous layout and no I'm not converting to Narra gauge from the wonderfully accurate N Gauge :P:P

    Cheers

Simon have you thought about a track cleaning wagon may help with build up of detritus on wheels

That's a good shout, make it something like the one that runs round Miniatur Wunderland. They have 2 or 3 that circle the whole layout.

If you watch the Jenny Kirk (Jenny Emily on here) interview you will hear from Keith Revell - the interest levels for N gauge proposals are at about 50% of what they need to be in order to proceed.

At that rate, I don't think we'll be seeing anything too soon.

And of course the lack on interest in KRModels N Gauge range has got nothing to do with 'Short arms & long pockets' comments that came out of KRModels has it??

Don’t get me wrong, it should be faultless as should all models, given the cost. I wonder how many of the outspoken complainers actually take Hornby to task over the issues. Bleating on and on via their social media groups is done for attention and likes and only causes more outrage. Personally I’m happy to be getting my APT which looks right. I’ll deal with any issues as that’s what I do. I certainly wouldn’t be sending it back.

Each to their own and all that.

Are you inferring that people should be doing, oh what do you call it??

It's on the tip of my tongue!!!

I'll get there in a minute!!!

    Oh yes, MODELLING!!!

    Good grief man.......

If that were the case the level of grey at the bottom would be out as well, which in fact looks about right to me.

I just think it has been made too wide and is simply wrong and wasn't picked up.

    Scott,

Sorry mate but I have to slightly disagree there.

The bottom of the Grey band is too high by about the width of the white band, if you look at the photo that Adam's just posted, you can see the top of the door handle just breaks into the bottom grey and splits the white band, which if the grey was dropped by that dimension, which may be only miniscule. I do agree that the width of the grey is too big and this gets rid of the Blue portion above it to the roofline.

But it's enough to require a repaint if bought....

    Cheers

    Neal.

I wonder if Steve at Rail Tec Models and Adam and Electra Graphic eye's light up every time a new Dapol model hits the shops?

The font's right, but the text is missing a "-". Most of the Mk3 sleepers I've seen photos of are labelled "Inter-City Sleeper".

This is the only image I've found of blue/grey and "InterCity".

10713 Mk3 Sleeper at Kidderminste (28-10-2017) by blackwatch55013, on Flickr

The good news is that sleeper's ran mostly at night so the mistakes won't show in the dark.

    Steven B.

    Steve,

Hasn't that coach been painted in Preservation??

I've not been able to find any photos taken in the 80's of Sleepers in service without the "-" in it.

    Cheers

    Neal.
