  1. Hi Bif,interesting write up on your latest escapades.I have completed my Farish N Gauge Deltic sound conversion using your rather excellent sounds on a v4micro.I have 2 CT sugarcube speakers and of course the sound decoder all crammed into the loco.I have completely emclosed the speakers with bluetac and capton tape so the bluetac doesn't stick to the bodyshell.I have to say that I have managed to recreate a bit of the Deltics low frequency sounds by doing this although it won't rattle your chest like the real thing.I'm really pleased with it even though more mods are required on the cabside windows as these cause the bodyshell to sit a little bit high at the end where the decoder is fitted. Its only about a millimeter but its enough to be noticeable and as it was run at an exhibition a couple of weekends ago,his rather low bridge scraped the roof.My newly finished blue/grey n gauge hst that you did a reblow on has also had a twin sugarcube speker set up added to it and this caused a real stir.Everyone loved it and so do I. Please keep up the good work. Look forward to hearing any future new sounds.Class 31 sounds promising. Cheers Pete
  2. Hi,I have had my class 20 for 9 months now and have been fitting dcc sound into my n gauge fleet gradually since the beginning of this year.Currently I have fitted Zimo MX648 sound decoders in my Farish class 24,37 and class 50 and have fitted Loksound v4micro's in my Farish class 40 and 47. My preference is to use the Zimo's as opposed to the Loksounds but with Legomanbiffo's sound files being so good, they're very hard to resist.Having said all that,Paul Chetter's latest Digidrive sound projects are incredibly good to drive so once his latest class 20 sound project is on the market I'll be very close to the front of the queue for one of these. Having had the body off to have a look at sound fitting viability,I would say that the speaker will most definately need to go in the cab as the chassis top doesn't look like there is space to fit it on top there.Likewise the fuel tanks, these look way too small. My preferred way of fitting sound to n gauge is to remove the pcb and hardwire the decoder and rewire the lights, adding resistors as required although on these, the bonnet lights are on a contact strip from the pcb so this needs to be worked around to get an ideal solution. Having done a Farish class 24 already, mine having the speaker in the tanks,I must say that this was a tight fitting installation so unless someine chooses to fit a CT Electronik CT SL76 plug in sound decoder,I expect that removal of the pcb is the only way to go,in my opinion of course. 3. Hi,just read the whole thread from start to finish over the last few nights and have to say that I'm properly impressed with what you've done up to press. As I am also modelling in n gauge,I have to share your sentiments on wiring.I have just bought a Digitrax DCS51 Zephyr dcc set and am doing the wiring for that.I can onlyanage about an hour and a half a time tops because its such a dull job.Still, when its done I can have a good play as long as it all goes well and doesn't give me too many headaches.
