  1. Anyone else find waiting for Bachmann announcement a bit like being a kid before Christmas??

    Just me?????

Absolutely - haven't felt this excited about a forthcoming model for years - I have so wanted the SR Booster EL's modelled and the 4-CEP's were a part of my childhood trainspotting then teenage travel then both travel for work & being part of my early BR career.

  2. I love my first sound fitted loco!

I went from "I doubt I'll use DCC sound, it's just a gimmick" to never running anything that doesn't have a sound decoder!

  3. Of all the paint tins to dry it during lockdown why is it the white? Will household emulsion work?

I've used it before to do invasion stripes on an aircraft kit

  4. Modelling is such an antidote to the craziness and stresses of the current world. In my No gauge empire no one has heard of Covid!!

I suspect most people wish they'd never heard of Covid.

By the way, I agree with you about modelmaking. The way it forces people to take a step back - and chill - is one reason I've been into the hobby for most of my life.

  5. Who knew that Vietnamese railways had NSE liveried coaches?!

Yeah - Google "Hanoi railway station" and it could almost be Waterloo circa 1990. Well, not really...

  6. I swear that as long as I model in N gauge I will never make another building with an outside staircase

Take it to the next level. Go T scale!

  7. A great day mountain biking round the Hope Valley. Sunshine, great trails AND trainspotting. Perfect

  8. Do you think SWMBO will notice the baseboard is a 'little' longer than previous?

  9. Wirign complete. And it seems to work!

  11. The points and track on one board work, the points but not the track on the other. I think three out of four isn't a bad start!

  13. So proud of my 3yr lad. He has taken the tender from his Brio 'Henry' and put it in front of 'James' - to make a garrett just like we sae on the Welsh Highland. Is this his first kit bash?

  14. Just had my first go at airbrushing. Amazed at the results, what a revelation!

  18. Before cutting out the windows of your class 37 make sure you haven't lost the replacement etch. Major fail....

  19. The advantage of having a train mad toddler is that I can play trains for an hour AND get brownie points from SWMBO!!

  20. It was Friday night, SWMBO is out, the toddler's fast asleep. So what did I do? Re-organise my modelling bits and pieces drawer! Rock and Roll, living the high life!

  21. First track laid.

  22. I seem to have aquired enough expanded polystyrene to model the entire Settle to Carlisle line, including scale models of the Three Peaks!

  23. Damm- can't tell my right from my left. Lets hope the model shop will exchange the points!

  24. Popped into my local model shop to buy some plasticard and a Ratio kit. Came out with a 47 for me and a 'Thomas' train set for my lad!

  25. Browsing flikr over the weekend I come up with yet another idea for a layout. Why can't I stick to one idea and see it through??
