Another overpriced horror from this well known (on these pages) seller.

Hornby R.2880 BR CLASS 9F 2-10-0 LOCO & TENDER. No 92221. DCC READY MIB

92221 is a loco that is reported with Mazac pest to the tender chassis

The clinders look to have come off an Evening Star the cab windows are unglazed and the pipework/handrails moulded and are painted white.  The cab number is 92166 and it looks to have the contact pin for a tender drive. Probably an earlier body / chassis.

    Maybe £12.00 not £120

    Hi all,

Regarding the Lidl copper tape, it's looks like a bargain for the garden but I've never thought of any modelling applications. It's going to be pretty thin and flimsy stuff with a self-adhesive backing. It'll also tarnish pretty quickly. Has anyone ever tried soldering something to it?

    Peter

I have used it (B&Q narrower copper tape) to take current from bus wires across the top of the baseboard and soldered short lengths of copper wire from the track to it. Works a treat! I will cut the Lidl tape down to narrower strips 1/2 1/3 width.

Covered with ballast not noticeable but would need to underboard wire any extra wires ater ballasting!

What's going on under the cab as it looks like something is missing as well.

What tender should it be as it's tender drive?

Only Evening Star had a  lined tender I think?

Aha, the old spray it with oil, it won't look quite as bad as when it was dug up ploy...

The rest of his/her listings overpriced and nothing in the "sold" listings must say something about pricing!

Well apparently it’s been in their Engineering Department. For that money I’d want a warp drive fitted.

possibly thr pizza cutter wheels have been turned down??? does that cost £80?

  7. I have just fitted a Zen Blue sleeve to a Brocklebank line. I found room on the side of the firebox and fixed it to the chassis with black tack This was hard wired as the loco was not DCC ready! I have in the past fitted to the chassis behind the motor and an even smaller chip above the gears. Much easier in the tender on later models!

I see that they've amended the description a little. "May" be down to mazak rot.

Try inspecting it properly, you're a major player in the secondhand market, I bet you noticed that it was b*****ksed when you made your offer to the previous owner!

    And it's still overpriced junk.

They appear to be selling it for the owner:-

    So I made an offer:-

Is it a Hymek with an AL1 cab at each end? I'm just wondering what the hump back is all about?

    No it is

Hornby R753-LN A.E.1 Type AL1 Electric Locomotive E3001 could be the double or single pantograph version.

'Finescale' as well.  His Gostudinousness could probably provide enough material for his own Madness thread as well.  This is in some ways not the worst loco I've ever seen from an Airfix kit, presumably tender driven which Mr G has been careful to hide with the photographs but the wires between the loco and the tender give the game away, and with a decent level of detail below the running plate, but the asking price is way over the top when you can get brand new Bachmanns.

Looks to me as tender pickups wired to motor in loco. However I wholly agree with the rest of the conclusions!

  11. We have plantation blinds they are like venetian blinds, but can be opened/closed with a stick or a long ruler. They were fitted by the previous occupants and give a superb control over light levels. Fitting would be a problem with your setup!!!!

  12. You wont loose the program track option as the handset can still be connected to the old system. You merely move the handset to the old setup which can be easier as the wires don't have to be swapped to the program track.

DCC concepts make a very good connector if you need a fascia mounted connector instead of plugging the powercab into the SB5.
