On30runner
I am trying to find an article about a gauge 3 exhibition layout from the mid 90s. It had a Manning Wardle 0-6-0 and it all looked incredibly weathered. Does anyone else remember it? I have it in my head its January 1996.
PatB
I remember it. I've even got the issue. Unfortunately it's in an inaccessible box somewhere so I can't off errands practical help, although my memory tells me it might be more recent than 1996. south_tyne
'Ivydale All Hallows', a gauge 3 light railway in about 12'x2', December 1996. Late to the party (as ever) but yes it is December 1996. Standard Gauge 3 in 12' by 2', with a trackplan based on Wantage Town portraying an independent light railway. It's ingenious use of the tiny space and is such wonderful atmospheric modelling. I could 'wax lyrical' all day, it's my favourite layout of all time! Well worth a look for inspiration and shows how well large scales can work in spaces usually set aside for 2mm/4mm scale.
