LGB Stainz Loco Smoke Unit

OK a very basic question. We purchased an LGB Christmas train starter set, it uses the 0-4-0 Stainz loco which has a smoke generator.

 

So how do I access the smoke generator to add fluid? Do I just pour it into the chimney.

Yes straight in the chimney, you should see the element in the middle, you will probably need to turn it on using the switch in the cab, see the relevant position in the instructions.

Is it one of the ones with the straight chimney or the fat spark arrest or chimney? You can clearly see the smoke unit in the straight ones whereas the fat ones have a grille over the top. Also, the older models have a swinging or rotating contact on the bottom of the loco, directly under the chimney as a sort of crude on off switch.
