Ruston
Evening all, I am considering having a narrow gauge feeder line on my next OO layout and I have seen photos of a Bagnall wing tank, by Minitrains, which would really fit the bill for the kind of industrial line, and period, that I am planning. Questions: with Minitrains being a non-UK company, are these locos to HO or 3.5mm/ft. equivalent rather than OO(9) 4mm/ft? Also, are they actually any good in terms of how well they run, are put together etc? TIA
johnd
Have the same idea but think I am going to use some of the Bachmann Penhryn quarry locos when they appear.

The Bagnall is considered to be 4mm, although it is based on a freelance competition entry to fit a previous MT mechanism rather than a scale model of a particular loco. A common and well proven set of chassis components is used in the majority of Minitrains locos, including a flywheel, and they are smooth and well running. BernardTPM
The Bagnall is at least 4mm scale and wouldn't look wrong in Sn2. Bagnall did build them in varying sizes. Both the new Decauville 'Progres' and the earlier Brigadelok are 4mm scale (or near enough in most dimensions in the latter case), but the Baldwin 2-6-2PT is really H0, though on 2' 6" rather than 60cm given the 9mm gauge.
