RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted January 16, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 16, 2011 There was a recent question regarding obtaining stock boxes, I mentioned that we use A4 lever arch files, and as they were out over the weekend I snapped a few shots off. The clip mechanism is removed with brute force and/or ignorance. A decision as to what the box will hold is made and the foam core is cut to make the compartments where the vehicles live. For locos, foam is also used for additional protection. These are all bespoke so can be tailored to suit the exact needs A variation, these wagon holders have sponge "bases",this is not always required as they can stand on their wheels, sometimes foam is also provided around the outside, all depends on what the vehicles are. 3 of these will stand in a collapsible stack-a-crate, keeping the vehicles upright. The foam board is held in place using PVA wood glue

Penlan
I have about 25 of these boxes, they are lined around the sides and bottom with the grey 'sponge' sold at B&Q for putting under the (thin) wooden floor panels, then I have dividers made from 6mm sponge. The boxes have labels either end with a main description of the contents 'Local Passenger #2' etc., plus coloured electrical tape around the out side which is either green (Passenger), yellow (Goods), red (heavy boxes with the loco's) or the Yellow/Green 'earth tape' for fittings and removable small buildings etc.,
