Hi all,
Loads going on on the bench at the moment, just at the same time as the camera goes off for a clean and a service. Bit of poor planning on my part that one.
Still here are some locos that i have been working on, just awaiting finishing touches before a coat of varnish.
Thanks
Hi all,
Well as Pugsley has mentioned on his layout blog, I have been intrusted with the task of building the track and the wiring.
When we were waiting for the Taunton Members day to open (CK, its your fault!! ) Martin and I where chatting and the subject of what i do work wise came up and as I was recalling the list, Martin happened to ask if i did layout work and would i be interested in taking on the track and wiring for his layout.
It has to be said at this point this idea was
Hello one and all,
Not sure what is going on with the weather at the moment, still its been a nice day today so thats a plus.
The cattle wagon is progressing
It just needs some MJT W irons fitting as the mounting points for the white metal axle boxes are too far apart, luckily i have a supply of them.
I have also been painting these,
And then fitted them to these
Next step is to put a bit of paint on them.
Hello all,
Next up on the bench is one of these,
This is being built for a customer who use to drive the trains that these wagons ran in and he has always wanted a model of them. There was a bit of a F*&K moment when Hattons announced that they were going to be doing the hoppers but not this version Here it is after i had punched the rivets out, lucky there wasn't many to do.
Whilst i am on with the hopper i will also be making up one of these too
This particular kit is a early

Hi all,
What a crazy time it is at the moment, as soon as i finish items then they seam to be replaced with two more, coupled with a few site visits and a trip to the deep south I'm not sure where the month went.
Its been a busy month with layout work and to kick off we have a layout that came to me for wiring. Now there was already wiring on the boards but it was very poorly done and not working properly so out with the cutters and the old stuff was removed and then replaced. A lot easi

Hi all,
There are quite a few wagons going through the workshop at the moment, which is great as its a chance to use a few effects that you normally can't on other items of stock.
The first up is a modified Dapol kit, which is to be black with a bit of weathering.
Here you can see the start of the work on the deck area
A pipe wagon with some pre-shading on the sides.
And a a start has been made on these 3 wagons, which will become very heavily battered and worn.

Here are a few items that are passing over the bench at the moment. Some people may recognize a couple of items, as they have been sent to me for painting and a bit of weathering. Looking forward to doing a couple of special bits on these.
The buffer has been turn to the correct orientation before someone points it out.
I would also as we are on the final approach to Christmas and I am having a few days off till the new year (so I can do some of my own bits for a ch

Hi all,
Its very busy at the moment due to various reasons, one of which i have already commented on else where.
I have had these two ladies pass by the bench recently for sound fitting, it was a nice change to be working with large scale items
And this lady
Both have been fitted with Loksound XLs with bass reflex speakers in either the boiler area or under the tender in between the frames. Both sound quite loud, well i was asked to turn them off as the better half could hear th

Hi all,
Ive had a few corrective jobs in recently and this is one of them. The name had been removed prior to the owner buying it and as you can see the nameplate and the paint benith it had also been removed so a bit of touching up is called for
You may also remember this lady from a few posts ago, well i have now decided on which loco to do so a little bit of painting is needed
The new numbers have arrived so I'm now just waiting on the fan grills and a couple of other etched parts t
Hi all,
Its been a while since any updates due to work and also having to fit 4 day trip to Scotland in to the equation but as you can see from the pics it was worth it. Well i thought it was (not the early starts tho.)
Anyway, a quick update whilst i am waiting on the postman. I have been working on a 24 which came in for a bit of dirt slapping (im guessing thats is a technical term as i saw it on a model railway weathering facebook page)
There is still the detailing to be adde
HI all,
Well after another busy weekend there are a few things on the go on the bench but most of them are now in the dryer after a painting session today.
These two ladys are going into Green with a white strip, but both bodies have got a few knocks and are a little rough patches so the pic has been taken during the filling and sanding stage.
Will try and get another update in before the weekend but I'm off to the N gauge show this weekend to play trains on Mini M-S-W, so it may n
