About this blog

Construction of a new layout in 4mm scale, OO-SF gauge, inspired by the City Widened Lines, in particular Farringdon Station/Goods, Moorgate, Smithfields Goods and Vine St (Met) Goods.  It's a loose representation in a very minimalistic space but will be used to host some operations based running as well as being the place to run all of the loco's I hope to build.

The space is a 10'x4' L-shape viewed from the outside of the corner, with a fiddle yard across a window at the opposite end, that is around a further corner (viewed from inside).  It's minimal, it's ambitious, it's all I'm going to have as the wife and I are hoping to never move again...

The main focus will be the running of LNER, LMS and SR (SECR) equipment, into and out of a terminus station based on the suburban platforms at Moorgate, with a Farringdon/Smithfield's inspired goods facility below.  There is also a planned representation of the Metropolitan Railway's Vine Street goods depot, but I don't intend to operate any Met coaching stock at this stage as there seems to be a significant premium on any models of it, certainly more than I am prepared to invest at this stage.
