About this blog

As we lost the photos in my Locos Blog I thought it was time to set out some of the stock ready for use on my Home Layout.. Leeds (London Road).

First off some ex LMS 4F.  all kit built and some are slightly different to the normal run of the mill model.

A Wills kit with a High Level gearbox and a Chinese motor .. The tender pick up wiring has been improved so that it no longer drags along the track.

Will kit for the loco.. small tender with cab.. as used around Skipton on snow plough duties. I didn't build  this but the tender can gives it a bit of charm! (Not sure where the etching for the cab came from ).

a  Wills 4f with a flexichas chassis and a Comet/ @innocentman etched high sided tender.

Fitting a high level gearbox with one of the "cheap" Chinese motors  gives plenty of go.. albeit its not that speedy.. just like the real thing!

And finally a Wills loco I bought and gave it a bit of TLC.

Black 5s.. you can't have too many of them!

Mixed traffic locos are a must for Leeds (London Road). I have plenty of kit built Black 5s (plus a Hornby one not shown on here).   Ks Black 5 with a Mainline tender and Comet front bogie - a Namer! Lancashire     A Model Loco Black 5 with Portescap motor and gears fitted     Another Ks Loco Black 5  - it needs to have the gears cleaned out as it is getting to be quite noisy. It is probably 45 years old and was built by Nicktoix

Passenger locos

The layout will require a lot of passenger locos.. from both  the LM and the NE Regions in about 1960.   Looking at Jubilees.. kit built ones include:   Leewrad Islands.. now weathered an loaned for use on Shap.   Sea Horse also used on Chapel en le Frith Bothe of these are Ks Kits with some modification     This is a weathered/shed cleaned Bachmann jubilee Sturdee.   Baz
