Muck, Ash & Oil.

Hi All.

Well, 100 blog entries! I thought it would be interesting to take a look back at progress since Ropley Started nearly 2 years ago. Progress hasn't been as quick as I would have liked, but I have learn't alot along the way. I would never have thought I'd be making my own pointwork for a start! I also wanted to say thanks for all the likes, comments and feedback, it really does help keep the modelling mojo alive and kicking!

It started with a plan.

Which needed a little imagination!

Before becoming reality.

The first point. A small victory but a big confidence boost!

A new look for the blog and after much twisting, the embankment tree line starts to grow.

Red Muck. A start made on the inset trackwork.

A peak into the future.

And that brings us neatly to the current state of the yard!

I wonder if it'll be finished by entry 200.......

Cheers all!

Tom.

Hi Tom.

Congratulations on 100 entries, it has certainly come along way, I have followed it quite a long time and have been impressed by the standard of work!

The Trackwork looks beautiful, you have to look at the couplings on the stock to see that it's N Gauge. I also love the picture of the 5MT and Brit (?), just oozes atmosphere and makes the layout look complete!

Can't wait to see it develop even more

For some reason I've kept away from blogs (I just refer the thread model) but recently I've stumbled across your blog and I just had to say what a treat it has been going through all your old entries.

The trackwork is just superb and quite inspirational.

You've certainly made great progress. The track inset into the ash and muck looks spot on.

Cheers

Congratulaions on 100 entries. This is truly inspirational and the trackwork looks wonderful! Look forward to seeing the later stages of progress and hope one day to see in the flesh.

Cheers

This is definitely one of my favourite blogs. I think it is great to see the progress each week presented in a fantastic way. Personally I have found the techniques to be extremely inspirational and have pushed me further into the realms of modelling. You never know, by post 200 I might be asking how to wire up a scratchbuilt point...

I wholeheartedly concur; exceptional quality and one of my favourite spots on the site.

Thanks Andy!

The depot is more compact than Green Street, St Hellier.

Hi Lisa. I believe lack of space is something of an issue for the Mid Hants, and indeed Ropley is a small yard in comparision to many others on preserved railways!

Cheers,

Tom.

Hi Tom,

I tend to follow threads on RM Web and haven't really looked into the blogs very often but have really enjoyed catching up with this. Very good work indeed - thanks for posting!

cheers
